Gay Marriage in Canada

Well, I'm sure you all know already about this, but to make it official, we have to give our stamp of approval here in the Montreal TA section. What do you guys think: good bad, and why?
Personally, I think it's absolutely great. I'll give a more in depth opinion later, but for now, would simply like to point out the following from the above article:

hahahaha...I love how they pointed Alberta out :stongue: :stongue: I swear, if it wasn't for their massive oil reserves that will come in handy in the next 25 years or so, I'd be leading the campaign to get them to secede from Canada and join Jesus Land :p |

| I think it's great, and I hope it gets passed. No reason why 2 people that love each other shouldn't have the right to get married, no matter what their gender. |

I dont believe in gay marriage.
Marriage is the union of a happy man and woman who want to take the next step in life and become a family. A man and man, or woman and woman, can go ahead and do what they please in their own homes. Its been like that for years and centuries. Now just cause its going public gays want the exact same rights as hetero's.
Want the same rights? Dont be gay.
Oh, and im sure there will be some flaming, but please try and support your arguments. |

This means that for a Woman to have the same right as a man ... she would have not to be a woman ??
I actually think it's a good idea to get them to be married. First and most important reason is that married couples pay more texes ( i know ... i'm only thinking about money but hey )
Second thing, I actually don't see why two people who love each other can't express their love in the form of a wedding ? I mean there is no difference between a gay man/woman than a straight one. Being in love with the same sex is not a difference for me, they are in love, they are happy. In the end, isn't it what we all are looking for anyway,... happiness ??

In that thinking, should we also ban heterosexual marriages that do not want to have children?
These gay couples also want to take the next step in life, and move to a level of commitment that's much more important, and I don't see how it affects any of us directly at all. |

| 50 years ago, the thought of this is propesterous, in 50 years when the first woman decides to marry a horse or whatever, then I'm sure there will be people for and against it. Personally, I think its unnatural, there are cetain tendencies in human nature that are brought from the core as animals, and its not found anywhere else in the animal kingdom except humans. I'm not against gays, I just think its unnatural. |

Well its rare,but there are gay animals,even exceptionnally animal that "Falls in love" with humans.
And i am for civil union of gays,as for the whole mariage thing,i dont know,ill have to discuss it with some people to arrive to a concise conclusion...but then again...look at what happened with priests and the church recently...so i dont see why they're complaining so much,they use to kill people in the name of god,just because those people enounced a theory that went against the bible and now their complaining for two people getting married...not long ago they were controlling peoples lives,i think personnaly they're pissed off about this cause this is totally out of their control.
On the other hand,i agree its not natural,of course its not natural,but are all things unnatural necessarily bad?!Accepting the legislation of gay marriages wont make it natural, right or wrong,its just a law modified because of the chart of human rights,its not like the whole world is going to turn gay and i dont think people can develop "gayness",and doesnt change the fact that married or not,they're here,they're you're neighbords,so what does it change?
my prob would come to them having children, i personally think a child needs the presence of both sexes,but then again,thats debatable. |

I hope this never happens cause a child NEEDS a mother...not a GAY that thinks hes a woman.....a freakin mother....so marriage MAY be acceptable....but again....I think its unnatural... |
