sure he did a hell lot IN THE PAST, but the question is, what has he done for the trance scene NOW? releasing 6 compilation of hardNRG mixed CDs which are commercially successful does not mean that it will improve the trance scene as a whole. Sure, bass station is getting bigger and bigger, but do they play quality trance in there? i tried to be objective at kryal and ventured down to bass station room and i heard nothing but the sound of a hammer thumping upon a ing rock repeatedly on 150bpm. hardly an accomplishment, i would say. less can be said about the crowd. midro putting energy behind the decks? i would hardly call shouting over the breakdown every 3rd track as putting more energy. maybe some of the younger, uneducated crowd get off on it, but older crowds who used to go out when midro was one of melbourne's best find it very annoying.

and to top it all he's Australian. We should all be supporting him not bagging him all the time.
|
don't get me wrong, i'm all for supporting australian DJs, we got an amazing talent down here that can rate higher on an international level, but as for midro? he better set his priority straight and climb back up from that k-hole of his and be a DJ that can be respected not only by bass station regulars but also regain the crowds he lost.
my $0.0002 cents. |

Midro plays a style more towards NRG if anything he's continually ing the real trance scene every night, I remember going to bass station once with a mate who came from sydney to see us, We cued for an hour to get in and stayed for the whole 5 minutes that it took to piss and get a bottle of water before we left in discust, hardly what i call an improvement to the trance scene! |

lol, well I guess I had that coming. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
Oh and for the record, Im not part of the "younger, uneducated crowd" that u speak of, nor am I a Bass Station regular. I'm 24, and no club rocks like Dome used to back in the dayz.
I just like Midro's work and always have. |

dude, i'm not saying that you are part of that group at all, nor do i ever thought that you're one of them. if midro rocked your boat, then so be it! even i got a lashing from time to time just because i love PvD :toothless
and yes, Dome was very good back in the dayz :happy2: |

Was once true, but not anymore.
go to http://www.inthemix.com.au/features/18795/ and read the interview w/ Midro.
Quote from him "With the Big move to the palace there was an onslaught of the hardest and most ed up Hardstyle, acid and banging Techno sounds until it got to a point where it was time for a radical change and keeping in line with current world trends we switched to the Uplifting Trance sound and began experimenting with that." |

Dude, i respect what he has accomplished. I appreciate that midro has a good level of technical skill but if he thinks that the crap that gets played in bass station is uplifting trance than i take back my first two comments and agree with the others..
I believe that each to their own with tune taste. But I have to agree that the whole NRG thing in melbourne particularly is a complete joke, and does nothing to aid the trance scene down here;in fact it turns alot of ppl of dance music in general because that is what they are first exposed to and form a general opinion based on that. |

haha, seeing ppl going off it's really good, but when they started dancing on the barricades and you can't see except some ugly skank on your face or some dude waving glowsticks pointlessly you know you just want to yell 'get the off my view you khuunt!!' :toothless |
lol i remember u bitching about that...twas a laugh and a half:stongue: but i have to be honest and say those trippas dancing on the barricades did get kinda annoying for me as well:rolleyes:

Why is it that all the TA's on this site are always so negative towards Midro??? I don't get it! It seems to be a case of tall poppy syndrome. DIPPA, dude, we go to these things most of the time to have fun. if we dont enjoy what midro's playing its all good....in the end everybody's entitled to whatever they feel. i mean, if i was a dj, i'd much rather have people listening to my sets because they're enjoying it, not because they're only 'supporting' me :D :p |
