December 11 2004: It was the second night of a rockin' weekend...and it was hands down one of the most amazing nights this year! Right from the moment I was outside FUR, I was already in a great mood! I was really impressed with how fast the line moved. Not more than 15 minutes wait...excellent! I loved the impromptu netmeet at the FUR Cafe! Definitely a GLOW family moment!
As for the first part of the night...DJ Remy was a great surprise! I loved all those progressive and tribal house tracks he threw down! Great way to start off the night in the main room! It would be great to have DJ Remy back at Glow!
As for Armin...I've seen Armin three times in DC this year. I loved Armin's set @ GLOWeen. Nothing prepared me for his set this night! It was sick...his sickest set ever!!!!! Sure...Armin started off with some nice melodic trance. Once Armin threw down more and more tech-trance...I was ecstatic!!!!! I remember going insane when I heard Katana - One Big Wave and Tiesto - Ancient History!!!!! I couldn't have been happier! It just kept getting better and better! So many great surprises! Armin was on point! Anyone out there who still thinks trance is boring must experience Armin! Between the relentless beats, the hypnotic lights and the intense vibe...it all made for an incredible night! It was definitely worth staying out till 5 am...Armin owned!

OK here it goes. Sorry for taking so frigging long to post this review. I'm still recovering from the tooth surgery!!! I was only supposed to get 2 removed but the friggin dentist removed all 4 wisdom teeth!!!!:whip: :whip: Not very comfortable, let me tell you. All day yesterday I was popping codine pills to keep me in LA LA land. Anyway, back to my review:
As we all know, AVB is def no where near my first choice of a dj to go see. In fact, The last 2 AVB events that I attended, I went under the impression that I was gonna have a good time because my friends were going to be there and I love hanging out with them. So the same was expected Sat night. So we get there and we finally leave the hip hop room(because downstairs was not open) to go down and se DJ Remy. Before I go on, I would like to thank/blame Brian for being a little biotch and crying like a sissy about getting there early so we didn't miss Remy's set. Thanks to you bro, we had to deal with an HOUR of that hip hop !:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: "oh, we have to get there early so we don't miss Remy. We have to skip the meetup because otherwise we're gonna miss Remy!!!!" LOL!!!!!:haha: :haha: Amber, ya know what Ima saying babe!!!!!
Ok so we are downstairs and Remy is pretyy much tearing up and def putting me in the dance mood. At 1AM, AVB takes over and starts with some fluffy stuff that made me feel like running to my car and getting a pillow out of my trunk! But then, out of nowhere, he started playing some hard Progressive & Tech Trance music and I was like, OMFG is AVB really playing this???? I had to look at the DJ booth and see if it was PVD there instead of AVB. AVB kicked my ass on Sat night!!! one of the most enjoyable sets of the year for me!!!! My track of the night was Randy Katana - One solid wave. When he dropped that, Brian, Amy and I were in the back standing in the front of the stage and Brian just looked at me and said I can't believe he's playing this song!!!! it reminds me soooo much of PVD @space for WMC. Brian was soooooo excited that he couldn't even remember the name of the song. SO when I finally spit it out he was like, "dude you're a ing lifesaver!!! This is SOOOOOOOOOO SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Brian, my man, indeed the night was sick! Armin just got an extreme amount of respect from me after hearing this set. He def should play like this more often. The set was very PVDesq and very enjoyable. The best thing about AVB is how he treats his fans afterwards. There is no DJ out there, that is as big as he is, that is so open to hanging out and talking with his fans afterwards. That's just amazing.

ok its tuesday, and i am now fully recovered from this insane night. got my first night of full sleep yesterday finally. well we end up getting to the club later than i would have hoped b/c girls take FOREVER to get ready. but anywhos, we get in the club a little after 1, and immediately see brian with a pleasent suprise, many many thanx brian. it was a very good TA turnout, as it usually is for armin. his was rockin to say the least, much better than it was at halloween. armin had me dancing so much that i almost cramped up......twice. it was that kinda night. highlight song of the night for me was U2 - New Years Day. what an awesome track! all of a sudden, this euphoric feeling came over me during thta song, and it wasnt b/c of what you guys are thinking. this is what i LUUUUUUUUUVED....how after he played the U2 song, the music fades, the closing lights come on inside the club, and everybody, and i mean everybody, starts clapping their hands and chant ARMIN! ARMIN! ARMIN! and armin, with a big ol' smile on his face, looks at the owner of the club with his hands out towards the crowd and says something to him with this look on his face like, cmon man look at this i cant stop now, u gotta let me play more. and he did! 3 more encores. awesome. that moment proved to me once again just how much armin is for his fans. PLUR filled the air that night on 33 Patterson St. great great night.
after party was dope, hotel was dope, car ride back to cp was dope, the 5 hours of trying to go to sleep but just end up talking to erin was dope, watching the ravens kick the giants ass was dope, studying and finishing my 5 pg paper while all cracked out like a mofo wasnt dope. but all in all, just an awesome night.
