Price of free drinks - Hangover "ouch"!!!!
I think I've had enough vodka for a while!!!:D

Michelle, I love our posters!!! hehehe

Had a blast with Sweetcandy girl, Woody, and Orbital!!

The place was definitely going off big time.
The dj before Tiesto suuuuckkkkked. Could not wait for him to get off; I just kept thinking he can't get any worse and he did!!

Favorite tracks Tiesto dropped:
Way Out West - Mindcircus :gsmile: :gsmile:
Lethal Industry
and of course the Mauro Picotto track(??)

Yes, I'm a Tiesto fan (heh, I flew to Miami just to see him not too long ago!!!), I did enjoy him, BUT have seen him play 10 times better!!! I did still enjoy him, just not as much as I have all my previous times!!!
I'm going to have to agree with Woody's comments; I'll resist commenting too much myself, BUT my one comment is that I was counting the number of trainwrecks throughout his set, and there were some hard core ones!
Wished he was into the crowd A LOT more than he was into the people/girl in the back of the booth!!!!:( Never seen him like that before!! Oh well!!
(I seriously hope he blows me away on NYE!!!)

Had a blast last night though!!! :tongue3

On the scale from 1 to 10, Tiesto was more like a 6 borderline 7. Contrary to SweetCandy Girl's "flawless mixing," Tiesto ed up his first two mixes then several other times throughout the night. Come on, on the first song he stopped the CD Player by mistake! :eyes: Then later on the night, he took out the record while it was playing. :eyes: Now, that's scanless! And I know there's some TA's that can back me up on this cuz we were talking about it!

His first two hours were pretty boring. He was putting no effort into his set. He would play a song, take his headphones off and then go talk to the girls on the DJ booth. Then he would realize he was DJing and go back to play the next track right before it ends and then go back to talk to the girls. Tiesto played some breaks too! Which BTW, I love breaks, but the ones he played were wack! Highlight tracks of the first two hours... Mindcircus by Way Out West, and Just Be.

Then he dropped a Markus Schulz song, which he used to transition to TECHNO! :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyes: I LOVE TECHNO... and the artist he transitioned to was no other then the Techno master himself... MAURO PICOTTO!!!!! Now, that was when the room screamed and went off!!!! That was the only time you saw me jump during his entire show. BTW, he did a really bad trainwreck on this transition. It was a hard transition going from Markus to Mauro! :whip: OMG... The crowd went insane... That was the only build up I saw him do the whole night. Serious, he wasn't even paying attention to the crowd. It was not the Tiesto I'm used to. This was a drunk Tiesto! So that was the beginning of his 3rd hour. San Diego was a Techno crowd. It seemed like when Tiesto played techno, that was the only time the room would go completely insane!

Then almost towards the end he dropped LETHAL INDUSTRY. This was a new remix of it and OMG, IT was amazing! He finally started getting the crowd to interact with him. Besides the Mauro track, this was another track that had the room going insane! Then before you know it, he stopped playing around 2:30 and the other DJ Took over.

Through out the night I kept talking to people around me, and just when I thought I wasn't the only one feeling him, they would prove me wrong. I talked to at least 3 people that said they were not feeling. And these people are hardcore Tiesto fans. They even mentioned how he better be way better for NYE. Seriously, Tiesto could've been a lot better last night.

***Michelle*** I know you probably didnt like my review, but I'm just being honest and unbiased! Sorry if I hurt your feelings but it's just what I felt of him last night!

:eyespop:

Hummmpppphhhh....
I never walk into a club counting Trainrecks or what not. Shoot I do not even notcice some or most of them of them. Then again I am not a good Dj so that is all right.

Shoot I thought the CD player messed up on Tiesto and did not play the CD right and thats what stoped it. Not Tiesto stoping it :nervous: But then again I was in my la-la land and was just happy Tiesto got on!

Ok ya it was kinda of annoying that Tiesto looked back to talk to the girls and the people in the Dj booth a lot. But It I was still at Tiesto.. That makes me happy!
There is something about Tiesto's music and his sets. I always leave happy and never disapointed. Sure it wasn't a June 6th set but it was still Great imo. And ok Maybe Tiesto did mess up a little, and let the record run out and just turn the knobs to the next track. Ok maybe I sould have not said flawless....

All I know is that I enjoyed his set and had a great time last night!

I *heart* Tiesto. EOM
DjWoody
Yeah, maybe I was too hard. I'm not a super star DJ, but what bothered me was that I was expecting a lot more from him. I mean, if I was getting $40K for 3 hours, the least I could do is concentrate for those 3 hours!.. I still had fun... When it all comes down to it, the only thing that matters is you having fun at Tiesto! He is your favorite DJ, and I know how you feel about him, and you looked so happy, I could just see it! Then at the end when Michelle gave you her poster, your looked like the happiest person in the world! I'm glad you were happy! I was and still am happy for you!

Oh guess what!!!!!! I talked to Des today.. I thanked her for last night... And you kow what she told me? She told me the reason she was at the booth, was because Tiesto kept on checking her out and he asked the manager to bring her up cuz he wanted to meet her! :eyes:

Tiesto has been my favorite DJ since 1999 (Innercity 1999 is what did it), so I am VERY hard on him. :)

Anyhow, I don't go in looking for wrecks from a DJ, but personally, if they wreck, I _always_ seem to notice it. Sorry. It's like, "untz, untz, untz, untz, #*#*@#)@#(), untz, untz, untz" ... There is that instance of rhythm lost and that instance where the focus on the music is gone. :p

Sometimes, though, I do hate that I notice wrecks.

Tiesto at RS Wednesday night was far better than he was when I saw him in June in both in SF and in LA. :p

DjWoody
Yeah, usually I don't care if they trainwreck or not, heck Mauro Picotto is a huge derailmen himself, but as long as the music kicks ass I'll be happy. I can honestly say, I wasn't feeling Tiesto last night. :( Judge Jules did a way better set 3 weeks ago then Tiesto did last night... IMHO.. When John Digweed came over on Sept, he let me down too. He was pretty flawless but I just wasn't feeling him! I hope Sasha doesn't let me down tomorrow, or Johan bust a Tiesto on me tonight!
Golden Boy Mike
I've dj's and also done several promotions at Monatge and that Cd player you mentioned is notorious for skipping and acting strange. I wasnt there, but if something funny happened with it it might not be Tiesto's fault cause it has been acting up for a long time.
DjWoody
It could be.. so let's forget that first up... what about the rest? :eyespop: K, I'm gonna stop trashing Tiesto now! :eyes: LOL.... We're not perfect... I just wished he would've paid more attention to the crowd and I probably would not be talking so much! Cuz like I said, I usually dont care about ups! Heck, we all do them! I know I do! :haha: :toothless
Golden Boy Mike
Maybe he was distracted by that girl in the booth.
dj_bas
maybe he was high/drunk? i can mix when im ed up but damn my concentration is GONE...oh well sounds like you guys had fun nonetheless. someday maybe i'll see him live...can't decide if i want to or not, maybe if nothing better is goin on ill check him out :)

Just wanted to set the record straight: I wasn't purposely counting the train wrecks, but as I was in the "flow", a couple occured that just really stood out and they weren't on the CD player (I could see the decks from where I was standing). So, I don't go in looking for them, all djs usually have their train wrecking "moments", but these were just very obvious to me, kinda stopping my "flow".

I really enjoyed his track selection last night, different than I usually hear from him and I was really into it. Had a blast with you TA's and that is what counts!!!!!!!!1:toocool: :toocool: :toocool:

btw, Michelle you have got to find a way into that booth!!!!:D
