Op het Global Underground bord waren wat mensen die het nieuwe album van Pole Folder gehoord hadden. Ze gaven aan dat ze een beetje teleurgesteld waren dat het niet echt een 'progressive' album was. Ze vonden dat de tracks te 'poppy' of downtempo waren. Hier de reply's van pole folder, respect.....

But I think that most exciting about progressive music is that it's a general word which includes various styles with common topics, as the research of "not cheesey" melodies and emotions and / or environments mental and hypnotic. This is of course my vision of the progressive. Which is not far I think from the progressive rock vision of the 70's.
To get the chance of signing an album with Bedrock was for me the opportunity to mix all my musical influences and to include those influences in a project which has no boundaries or restrictions. My purpose was also to make this album mainstream but at the same time you can listen to it on different levels because of the diversity and the abundance of sounds.
So the question is "is it progressive", I think it's a musical album and a progressive album. But this is of course a personal opinion. I still believe that to stay honest in its step, an artist has first to please himself by hoping after that some people will share this vision. Because after all this is what music is all about, it's a sharing of feelings.
Now if for some people the dvd which was made for the promotion of this album sounds a little "pretentious", first I will say this DVD was made for the press as a way to have a visual presentation (maybe more cool to watch on a laptop than reading a press presentation), then I would be a lier if I was hiding my ambition. And to still continue to be honest I'm not interrested by acting too low profile in my career even if I think the work has still to be done 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. But without spokesmen the good styles won't be defended against the " evils 80's sounding 8 bits easy drums s" that we are listening too often in the radio or clubs for the moment.
But thanks a lot guys for sharing your thoughts about "Zero Gold". It's an honour for me and it's also logical for me to see and to respect different point of views as anyway diversity is the key to move in the right direction.

But don't focus on this if you trust more the music and I really hope you'll find what you are expecting in Zero Gold when you'll listen to it. |

Geen echte progressive maar ik heb op Yousendit nog de Oslo Nights March 2005 set van Hiroshi Watanabe staan. Stond al op djmixes, maar als je geen zin hebt in antileech / netpumper en al dat joinen... clickerdeclick:
