Icone - The Way Home (pg. 4)

The bass is good but not enough.
You have to change the sound itself.
3xOsc doesn't do the job.
Vanguard does it well, V-Station has good stuff (But I can't use them cuz i donnu how), Bass Station (Same as V-Station).
Try making more fxes.
Add more elements.
Make two pluck layers with different notes.
Make it more interesting.
Those are the only problems that I hear in your tracks.

Euhm, alright... Even though it's not a 3xosc :)

Don't forget it's your own opinion though, this is what I like to make.

It was a guess.
It sounded like that with the 64 kbps version.

Great stuff again wim, has been some time since i heard something new from you.....poor quality...but the track itself is again so typical icone, so driving. Your basslines and percussions are amazing. I guess this could be in one of the new state of trance....would love to hear and have a full quality sample or just the whole track without the intro and outro or something :P. Good stuff again, even in low quality it will stick into my playlist. Good luck with your future releases. Mayb i will hear some stuff from you on trance energy :), where armin and ferry spin....i heard they spin astra.

Btw. have you ever done any collabs with other producers around here? Because i recon all your tracks have the same kind of feeling, the real icone feeling, but at the other hand, your view on trance mayb a bit to narrow minded at the moment. After hearing all your tracks in a row they all have the same feeling the same sounds and stuff. And i can know it because i actually have a special icone playlist which i put on regularly. Mayb the input of another producer with a different style, combined with yours would give some amazing uplifting trancer, with the icone feeling but also something that makes it slightly different....

I have done a collab with Icone! Skunk Works 'Area Fifty One'! Wim and I have combined his driving style with my deep sorta sound to create your said amazing uplifting trancer! The out come is better than expected!

Maybe we could put up a little sample hey Wim?

Stino: thanks alot, didn't know you kept track of me for that long :)

Guess it is just my style for now, if I just keep turning back to it... I started 'Icone' a while ago to make this sort of trance because I liked it that much. Most of the time, I tend to do other stuff with other alter ego's, so people would know what to expect from the 'Icone' alias (hence the 'Van Gelder' alias more recently). I think for example Above & Beyond are doing the same thing (they also have a big back-catalogue). I believe that 'Icone' does have a different focus now I think, rather than on supersaw melodies.

Steve: maybe we should :) I'll get to it if you like?

Cheers,
Wim

Well, there actualy was a label which got interested, but sadly i was dum enough to post the 192 full version here on TA :toothless . Never mind though, as long as some people here liked it and enjoyed - im pleased :).

P.S - I'm still digging your remix :D.

Antonio.

Alright :). I heard your van Gelder samples aswell and they have a slightly different style, i like the two van Gelder tracks on your site very much aswell. How many of those tracks are actually released so far?
Anaconda
veri nice bass with a strong trancy feeling...very kewl passages of strings and pads in the middle of the track;)

great melody very epic and uplifting;)

great production!!! :) labels would be glad to see such a proper kewl track ;) :)

cheers!!!:D
LucasYork
I dont think a label would care if you posted a track on here that much?

isnt alt f4 or whatever licensed to a&b label in the UK now and thats all over the net... so yeh...

:D

anyways
:S

djrenco
awesome!!:eyes: great melody!

Antonio: Ow, that's a pity? There have been more tracks up here completely and afterwards saw a release... I can understand them, but don't give up on it because of that :)

Stino: There have only been two 'Van Gelder' tracks atm, but I'm planning on some more soon. Depends on the inspiration once again ;)

Anaconda: Thanks! I will see what I can do with it.

Lucas: I know, it's kinda sad. I believe when mp3's get nicked after the release they will be even more around because of their release itself. Maybe labels will once realise it doesn't really matter whether you post your track up here full nonetheless (see Antonio's track) to ignore the possibilities of your music.

djrenco: Thx alot mate! I appreciate it ;)

Bye,
Wim
