When will the commercialism stop???

The first Freefloats were used at the already legendary 'Tiesto In Concert' event on May 10th 2003, where due to a very unstable dj-boot a pair of Freefloats were used to make things rights. In the 8 hours that followed, the needles did not skip once. As Tiësto mentioned afterwards; 'It saved my party!'

Funny enough, the Magik Muzik Freefloats premiered at the 3 new Tiësto In Concert events as held in October and November 2004. Equal in shape and functionality, the Magik Muzik Freefloats are the first Freefloats that are manufactured in a different colour (grey/silver), and feature the Magik Muzik shield logo in it's original blue colour. Magik Muzik is Tiësto's own label within Black Hole Recordings, which besides his own albums and singles also features releases from other talented producers such as Mark Norman, Oliver Lieb and Mr Sam to name a few. Magik Muzik has a huge following within the dance scene around the world, mainly because of it's constant high quality and innovative sounds. Now, besides Magik Muzik record bags, slipmats, jackets and t-shirts, the label is proud to have it's own special Freefloat.

Tiesto: "I'm glad I now have my own Freefloats to take wherever I play"

I think he was the original promoter for those things :)....but that's kinda cool...you have no idea how much of those they'll sell ;)

PS

Don't you have a Tiesto coke can? :toothless :toothless
He's making a good $$ for sure...hmmmmm I don't think it's bad though really. Just great marketing :)

Yes I do, but Coke released a whole series of cans with the various parties featured on them (Dance Valley, Sensation, Mysteryland...) and Tiesto in Concert was also one of them.

Tiesto's fans will refuse to recognize that he is a money whore until his likeness graces the toilet paper in our bathrooms. And even then they'll probably still deny it.
torontobarfly
why is it that professional athletes and actors and musicians can market themselves and make tons of money and thats ok but tiesto is a money whore because he's doing the same thing and taking advantage of his hard earned success?

the man still spins a mean set....i couldn't care less if he gets joan rivers to sell tiesto shower curtains...

we certainly hate to see people do well don't we...
Euphorica
nothing wrong with dude trying to make a buck. Id do it.

as long as he still performs well and puts out good music(arguable as of late) its fine with me.

seems that way sometimes...

I'm all for people promoting themselves, making money, etc...to a point. There's promotion...then there's shameless promotion. That goes for DJs, athletes, actors, etc.

This seems harmless enough...I don't want to see a freakin' Tiesto bobblehead or something though...THAT would be a bit too much :D

Who said it was okay for professional athletes and actors and musicians? Wayne Gretzky, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin and Joan Rivers are money whores too. Even the guys like George Foreman are borderline.

There may be some people who bash Tiesto out of a double standard, but there are many others who simply dislike all shameless self-promotion, no matter who does it.
