I dunno, I saved about $200 on audio stuff at Future Shop (on a purchase just over $300). I checked the stock online, and had to yell at them to give me the right price on one item, but other than that, I didn't get ripped. It's stuff I simply would not have bought if it wasn't on sale.

But I was smart, I went to the Markham East location in butt nowhere that's impossible to find. There actually weren't that many people (more than usual, but I could breathe).

I decided to save myself a lot of stress and money by staying at home this boxing day. Couldn't be happier. :D

There's huge line of ppl waiting outside of BestBuy! I don't get it, don't these ppl realize that you don't save that much on boxing day?

Wow!! That's just nuts!!

Just like Emery said - I guess they didn't realize that you can buy the same stuff online. :stongue:

This year was my first time ever shopping ar Boxing day!!!!

I wanted to buy myself a nice digital camera...so I made it to Futureshop at 9:00 AM.

I love my camera.....I have wanted one for a long time :)

Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!! (Birthday not till Jan 25th but this gift counts as part of it hehe!!)

All my brother kept saying when we were there was, "animals!" LOL!!!!! too funny! The customer service was great though!!! This guy saw me looking at some cameras, helped me pick out a camera, memory card, leather case...and I was out in like 20 minutes! It was great!

:) Smile for the camera!!!!!!!!

everything is closed in halifax. boxing day is tomorrow. Nova Scotia is the only province I believe where it's against the law to be open for business on a Sunday, except for restaurants and bars.

We had a stroll yesterday and absolutely everything was closed, not even tim's was open. very silent. It was actually nice.

Whoa, talk about taking the 'day of rest' seriously.

I cant handle the malls on a regular day, let alone boxing day. I get too stressed out with people.

yeppers. It's very soothing. It's literally a sleepy town.

We're going to venture out downtown and see if we can get some brunch.

boxing day is a big scam, i dont get it , they have the same price on normal days as well maybe 10-20$ cheaper

Ah wel, good day and enjoy it whoever is going for big line ups and cold weather.:stongue:

It's not a scam everywhere, you just have to pay attention to what you're buying, same as anything else. If you're lazy and just ask the salesperson (or your computer) "what's on sale" then obviously you're going to get ripped. If you're looking for ordinary stuff, it won't be cheap; it's the end-of-line items that get marked down a load.

I just find what I want on sites like Future Shop or Best Buy, take note of their pre-Christmas prices, and see how much they cut off afterwards. It's really not that hard to research. And if you've got a car, it's not that hard to go out to the remote locations where it isn't so crowded either (if you take the TTC, you're pretty screwed). I'm very happy with what I got (active sub sounds great on this system :D).

Henry's has a 5 MP digicam for 200-something marked down a load and I think one of the chain stores might have it too. I might get that, I honestly think I'm one of the last people on earth that doesn't have a digicam.

This is the one and only time I've actually gone out to shop on boxing day and I honestly don't see what you people are complaining about. Sure, it's probably a zoo downtown, but it's been a zoo all week!
