Boxing Day FREAKZ! (pg. 4)

Boxing Day sales are a sham. Maybe you save 10 bucks here or there but its no better than a normal sale any other time of year.

Best time to buy is in mid jan when truely NOBODY is buying stuff and things are being cleared for the new year.

Okay, my mistake, maybe some of those stores are in malls. I haven't been to Markville or STC (what is STC?).

Which FS did you go to last year? I would have loved to order online but unfortunately everything I wanted was sold out online. :p And in most of the downtown/North York stores. That's where all the madness seems to be. People should realize that locations which are convenient for them are probably convenient for many other people; you have to go to the inconvenient locations to avoid the crowds. :p

the one i went to was the one at Warden and Hwy 7 which sounds like the one u went too. they held a line outside despite the fact that the place inside was less than busy, albeit to make it appear that there was a big sale going on to passerbys. when i got inside there was a horde of people rushing the camera booth which caused the ordeal i experienced. i'm just glad i hav my camera, but it's the last time i'm doing that again..

STC = scarborough town center, the most dangerous mall on earth

Could explain why I am broke. ;) My time is worth too much to be clipping coupons and spending all day in a crowded mall in hopes to save a buck. But I don't really enjoy shopping at the best of times so it is no surprise that I keep my distance from the holiday sales.

+1

i am with her on that:D

Sounds like they have been taking lessons from Nightclubs

a) this is ridiculous

b) Id NEVER stand in line just to get INTO a store. WTF is that? Whats next? cover charge?

Go home, relax and wait for the real deals in Jan.

Actually that isn't where I bought my stuff. That's the regular Markham location. I drove by there, tried for 5 minutes to find a parking space, then said " this!" and drove another 15 minutes to the Markham East location. It's on Markham Road, south of 14th, next to a Canadian tire. A bit busy but MUCH less!

The Warden location looked like complete insanity, inside and outside, I can understand why you wouldn't want to go anywhere near there.

Jay, there are some deals in January, but end-of-line items disappear as of the new year.

yeah that's a newer location, but expect it to be no less than a zoo in a couple of years especially with all that new housing development going around in that area..

Shame. :(

Let's hope that by then I can afford to pay regular prices. :D If not, there's always Ajax and Orangeville!

P.S. If anyone wants to hit up one of the malls later in the week (lots of stores have sales all week long), give me a shout!

Dude, that Warden Centre or whatever it's called, phew, that place is insane... have you guys ever checked out that WalMart there during a year, anytime during the year? That place is a packed zoo 365 days a year. INSANITY! I'm never gonna walk into that place again, even if my life depends on it...

you are SOO right about that mall...I went downtown around 11am (snowing like and the sidewalks we're SO dangerous with icy clumps...I'm lucky I didn't fall) and was able to park in a green "P" on Richmond.

I went to the HMV to check out DVDs and bought a couple for 6 to 8 bucks but the other "marked down" DVDs weren't that big in savings...I mean 20% & 10% is not much of a deal so I left to check out some thug stores on Yonge & bought some cheap stuff.I did go into the Eaton Center but didn't stay too long...I found that their was less people then previous years and the deals are getting to be a joke too...

Diginut says that he's the only one left without a digicam??? Make that 2:( ...mayby I'll get one next year on Boxing Day;)
