eh i'm a michael crichton whore, so naturally i'd recommend anything by him :p
but other than that, life of pi was excellent, anything by hubert selby jr (requiem for a dream etc), and above all others, ishmael |

into the wild (a true story about a man who had everything...and dropped it all to live in the bush... ) really awesome book..inspiring because its a true story.
"Mercy" forget the author but its a thriller... a lot like 8mm (the movie) but way better.

actually apparently the whole ender's sega is good but i havent read the last three.
