no, just popular stuff, there is a difference. |
How is it not cheese? It was played over and over on the radio and on the music channels on TV here in Sweden. It was made to make some quick cash.
That's the definition of cheese. |

So that's the definition of cheese eh? People might have love it coincidently.. I don't know man.. But i think it's abit unfair to condemn it so much just because it's played on the radio, tv and stuff... that's because the ppl out there chose it, not because safriduo actually wanted their track to be played out there so frequently.. the crowd and important ppl makes the decision, not safriduo whom just produce this track accroding to their liking. you get my point here?
Don't know if i were phrasing all these correctly, but i'm just trying to make a point.
Ok, i need to clarify something about this definition of 'cheese', according to your definition. Let's just say Armin's remixes and tracks are being played over and over again in tvs, music channels, and radios, and certainly making some quick cash also.. does that mean that those tracks and remixes played are also called 'cheese'?
Another case would be Tiesto's Traffic being played so frequently on one of the radio stations here which plays absolutely cheesy music all day long. Somehow or rather, Tiesto's fine work got pulled into these kind of commercial stuff too. Does that make 'Traffic' a 'cheese' too? ppl are buying alot of his albums because of the commercial exposure, and that's some quick cash too.
Ok, i know it's ridiculous to name Armin and Tiesto in this situation, but i just need some concrete figures to test out your definition of 'cheese'. The Armin's example that i used was just an example, but Tiesto's one is absolutely true.
Don't be mistaken. I appreciate trance alot. Right now, i probably just wanna know about somethings which i need some clarification. |

played-a-live is not cheese, though i think the rest of their songs were rather crap...
its really uplifting, and it's full of energy, and the live percussion was quite revolutionary...
just because something's popular, doesn't mean it's bad...i think it's the old case of "i liked it before it was famous"...
and finally, i bought the "euphoria" complimation CD (the first one) when i was 11...so neerrr. |

Traffic and Burned with Desire were made to make money. Traffic was simplified so the common listener could enjoy it. Armin added vocals to his track to make it sell more copies (it was a cheesy track to begin with actually).
I'm not condemning it. I listen to cheesy crap too sometimes, when I don't want deep techy stuff, I just want some emotion. :p But if you're gonna listen to it, atleast admit that it's cheese. I mean, for God's sake, Safri Duo are signed to bloody Universal Records! I think that says it all. |
