first off, no one has probs with glowsticking. Do watever u want. I do however find it annoying when ppl create these circles to make room out of an already jammed packed place.

Yeah, or when they have those sticks on the ends of those long strings and they are flying all over the place and the person doing it sucks or is too wasted, so they end up hitting everyone around them.

But it's okay if they don't suck, right? ^^;;

Well, if they are good at it, they can usually control themselves pretty well and not hit anyone. So I guess so. It is still bad to do when clubs are very crowded though.

FINALLY some other people who had the same problem as me with the sticks! i have some serious bad luck...they were lettin people in with sticks until it was MY turn to go in! a promoter came right up to the bouncer and said "confiscate all glowsticks if you see them" :whip: i had to leave the line and sneak back in with sticks, how whack is that...

yea that is kinda wack that some ppl were allowed in with glowsticks while others werent.

iono -- ive seen gsc glowstick and yes they are amazing, no doubt -- i think its koo ppl take it so seriously cuz it is an art form...kudos :D but whether i see glowsticking at a club or not a particular night, its fine with me, ill still close the party, still have a kickass time cuz of the music and the vibe that i share with the people around me. i see enough terrific glowstickers amongst my TA friends to keep me entertained. :D

well first of all the people at Ikon f0cked up real bad because there could have been a LOT more room than there was. on non-NYE nights there is usually more than enough room to bust circles but i've been to countless parties that were PACKED and people constantly made circles for all kinds of dancing: glowsticks, popping, liquid, and even breaking.

i've said it before and i'll say it again...i completely understand not allowing strings because they are potentially dangerous whether the person is skilled or not. but freehand never hurt anyone and doesnt take up that much room :D not allowing glowsticks is one of the stupidest rules i ever heard in my life. only in nyc i've heard of this happening...if you told any clubber/raver from around the world about a rule like that they would laugh in your face and think nyc is whack :(

I know Ikon sell sticks inside but just not that nite. I'm flipping here because GK NYC says glowsticks are allowed that nite in Ikon, I'm sure you have read it that post. If they have said sticks aren't allowed then thats fine. Just don't say they allow it and then not at the door. I'm here trying to make an opinion that I won't be going to any more Ikon/GK events, I didn't tell everyone not to go and everyone is jumpin on me wtf is this. Do you all work for GK or something?
You are attacking people. That is all people see. I don't know if I have met you but do not care. Stop attacking my friends.

You are also being stupid. GK are the promoters they arrange everything but have nothing to do with the bouncers/security. The staff at Ikon were hired by Ikon, not GK. So you saying you were mislead by GK about the glowsticks is rediculous. How is GK supposed to control/know when a few security people are preventing people from bringing in sticks just cuz they wanna be dicks.

I am sorry you had a bad time and hope you feel better soon, but this is no reason to be rude to people. When you act like this people remember you as that person who attacked people (forever). Not good for you.

The reason soo many people support the GK guys is not because "Do you all work for GK or something?". Just that many of us know them personally, and the others recognise the effort they put into their parties so they can be different and "we" will enjoy ourselves more. They actually care and listen to our comments about and make as many changes as possible. I know from experience.

Finally! Stop being soo negative. happens now "grow the hell up". You are acting like a baby that got his/her pacifier taken away. Your life is not over. You are still alive. You did not get ed up at the club. You should be gratefull.

NUFF SAID!!!!!
