Staying on topic now.....
Yeah, sending some song lyrics to your significant other or someone you're interested in...heh...that's pretty romantic...works a lot. Force of Gravity's lyrics are just unreal, as well as Lustral - Broken, Andain - Beautiful Things, and of course, my fav. song of all time Rank 1 - Breathing.

DarkAngel, IMO romance doesn't have to be shown with stuffed animals or chocolate... the song lyrics are a very nice idea but I don't know many guys who would, for example, write some song lyrics in a card and send it to their girls. My favorite type of romance is surprise flowers... ;)
One of my bf's wrote me poetry... looong time ago... it was very sweet though, now that I look back on it, that kind of gesture (coming from a 16 yr old, no less) was very ahead of his age... gotta find those poems.... *digs in closet* :clown: |

I find that you usually find that special one when you're NOT looking, dont ask me why. Until then, the best thing you can do is keep your personal and emotional sides in order so when you find that special chica you have no other issues within yourself holding you back.
That being said, I hear you man. Although I'm not particularly interested in a relationship right now (she'd have to really knock my socks off) I know its a real pain in the ass with so many fake and emotionally unavailable girls out there. |

Bree!!!!! That was beautiful. It's pretty much the advice I give to my friends and I follow myself. Rather than let all the bad things that happen effect me in a negative way, I strive on picking myself back up and keeping my head held up high. I chalk it up to experience and move on with myself. I find that is the best way to handle things. Sure, it's not always easy and there are times when it brings me down. I'm not a rock. I'm human. It's human nature to allow emotions to get the best of you from time to time. They key is not to allow ANYONE or ANYTHING to change you into something you are not. A true love will love you when you are being who you are. If you feel you have to become someone you are not to have someone love you, basically you are kidding yourself and just setting yourself up for a broken heart. BTW, I don't mean to incorporate "you" into meaning Bree. I'm grouping people into the word "you". I'm sure you know that already! |

Thanks for the replies people. This thread has turned out to be fun. Just so people know I am not having any real issues with anything. Was just sharing feelings.
Joey I admire you for what you said. I feel closer to you as a friend with all that being said.
Another reason I wrote this thread is because I realised there is a lot of crap written on this board all the time. I figured it might be nice to have a genuine thread. |
