How Many DJs?

i want to see how many djs are still in the bedroom, have played out a couple of times but are still in the bedroom, those who don't have a residency but play a few scattered gigs and finally those who are working djs, such as those who have residencies and play out to significant numbers each week.

i myself am a working dj
i play each week at my clubnight called Thirsty
it's a small venue, about 200 each week, give or take
plus i play guest appearences often at other clubs
tu_face
yup, had a few gigs here and there. i think its mainly through lack of botheredness and not recording a ing thing that i don't get more regular gigs.

it is however a bit of a new years resolution to pull my finger out my arse and get some chuffing demos dished out.

I'm still pretty much a Bedroom DJ, have played out a fair bit, but most was mainly back in England, I'm like Tu_Face, and have decided to pull my finger out my ass aswell and get out playing more.
beats and beeps
I would think having a finger in your arse would stimulate you...

Perhaps even make you a better dj?

I guess not if you only have one hand free.

Anyways, I'm bedroom for now. I've been asked to do house parties before, but I know I wont like it, and that people wont like me.

As far as clubs go, I havent bothered as I just turned 16. I dont think they can hire you under age...

i see you're from calgary, come down to the sambuca lounge on thursday with a cd, we're always looking for new talent

the best advise i can give to aspiring djs, go to the night you want to play at all the time, become a fixture there, then once you get to know everyone toss the promoter a cd

you're more likely to get a gig if you're the promoter's friend than if you just sent them a cd

it's like "ok, you've supported my night for a while, i'll give you a shot in return"

Hey Tony will do man, I been down there afew times, love the atmosphere and music, and the cheap drinks are just a bonus, but obviously I ain't down there enough, I'm just always busy doin something, but I plan to make more free time this year, gotta love local talent, I've enjoyed more local sets than Big DJ sets in my time.

still in the bedroom, can't seem to find the time to practice more:(

Still in the bedroom mostly.
Have played a few house parties, would love to get out into the Calgary scene, but it really seems to be struggling right now. Alot more house heads than Trance fans I find.

Working right now on getting a residency time slot on AudioEClipse on Party107 radio. Just not quite the same as spinning a clubnight.

still a bedroom DJ.. im 17, been spinnin regularly for only a few months. my mixer is though. there are tons of problems with one channel cutting out. i have to hit it to get the sound back. lol....

once i get a new mixer i'll be able to practice more. then its goin down. :p

I guess Im still in the "bedroom". I prefer in my livingroom.:toothless I used to spin mostly house partys we threw and I did a few clubs. I was on the radio a couple times too. I prefer doing it on my own. I dont want to be a big DJ or anything, its just my hobby. I had a few sweet offers to fly to a location, I just didnt want to. Its been about 3 years sense Ive spun live to a crowd. I kinda miss it, but when Im on the table Im in my own world anyway.
