(this is not a DIRECT quote, but Tijs did say that).

sasha & digweed challenge your mind body & soul when they spin! its definitely an emotional rollercoaster ride when they are together thats for sure!

seb fontaine from scenester magazine (when he played @ system soundbar Toronto):

steven: what do you have to say to the people who may have come here tonight expecting to hear trance?

seb fontaine: theres no such thing as trance anymore, all the dance music you hear now that is supposed to be trance is garbage, its just fluff. i havent played trance in five years. real trance was something that took you away

You gotta be kidding.
You mean like muting the kick at the end of an 8 bar section?
or do you mean adding reverb to a high hat halfway through?
Common man, techno is very simple for people who know how to use a sampler. I think people who like techno give themselves too much credit. End of story. You guys probably dont know the difference between a minor and a major chord.

good techno music is very complex and difficult to make. the whole point is that its not based on a melody, its based on sounds, drive, percussion and flow. its not easy to pull off. would love to see you try. as for not knowing the difference between a major and minor chord, who gives a ? why is that even relevant? there is more to music than major and minor. generally i agree with most of your views on anti elitism, but that post was pretty sutpid..

anyway sorry to go off topic, ill stop now :D

Someone bashed PVD for saying Western and country is ty; well he doesn't. He says the generation of kids thinks its ty. And even if it's a somewhat "elitistic" quote, I think it's right on.
