| stop the war! we are in edm together, we have to help each other... This is like giraffes eating giraffemeat instead of leaves... Hmmmm, well never mind stupid comparison |

Of all people in this thread to claim as arson, you pick Ory? In all honesty, "dj jasonF" has been far more beligerent here.
Give me condescending progheads over profane, irrational trance relativists any day. |
here's an english comprehension class for ya Cobalt :D

"nearly every thread", that statement made by moondog means that he feels that many threads suffer. His comment includes this one (which obviously has...) but obviously extends beyond.
Likewise since you read these forums you are aware that Ory words his comments in such a manner in many threads to incite trouble.

Likewise the issue isn't one of musical taste even though you wish to frame it within that context... for some reason you are oblivious to the concept of atmosphere... that's what we are discussing. |

I do? Perhaps in other threads, not this one. But kudos for conflating my musical opinion elsewhere with my point here.
I'm not claiming that Ory isn't stirring up argument, but that in no way excuses the behavior of "dj jasonF". That's like saying it's okay to beat the crap out of someone for calling you a name. It's a matter of controlling reaction.

Uh, what are you saying, exactly? What is "the concept of atmosphere"? |

The only reason that I don't dispise progheads on this forum is because they show the nOObs that there's actually 'better' music around. That's the progheads' quest, really... To get more listeners.
And that probably sucks, cause everyone knows that most respected IDM artists are MUCH more inventive in creating music than proghouse producers:p |

We'll get to that if you explore the entire genre!:disbelief |

| Tod Dockstader, now that guy made some cool IDM in the 60's(or late 50's). Here's a direct mp3 download of him giving a 22 minute interview in 1963, talking about music and messing with oscillators. Interesting stuff. Here's the site that the link to the mp3 is on. It contains more info on Dockstader. |

Man, those guys were like the avant-garde of EDM in that time, so prog!:D It's actually the rising of industrial, not IDM. It's the age that people were exploring with all those new possibilities. Much Later, when Jungle got mixed up in these sounds and ways to make music, it evolved into IDM:) Then on the other hand, you got Drill 'n Bass (Actually much faster and more ed up IDM)
Man! There are some awesome sounds in that interview!:eyespop: |
