I don't think the airbase would be that great. 20,000 people is not a large event at the airbase. 500,000 would be large. Only filling up 20,000 if you're lucky would feel far to empty. It's like renting out the KoolHaus for your 20 employee company party. Overkill and the dead space actually takes away from it. |
that's what the (+) sign after the 20,000 is for ;)

Who would want to go to an open air venue in Toronto in the winter? There are only a few weeks during the summer where it'd be feasible.

sorry i shoulda been more specific then .. i meant in the context of the summer ..

| International Centre, Toronto Congress Centre and National Trade Centre are the best ... it's huge and they have sep rooms. The sound won't bleed at all. The BLC, bleeds like crazy. |

| Downsview Airbase is just a open field ... the venue they used for WEMF 2000 was better then that. |

the only MASSIVE thing about skydome is that the sound is MASSIVELY bad..(what i heard from some engineers that worked in there)
plus one big con about holding a party in those huge venues is that you need to spend some serious $$$ on hiring physicians and mathematicians to calculate where to set up the speakers..the boucin of soundwaves and so on...and testing,testing,testing.... *yawn
im wondering how come there was no massive party for example (air canada centre) for electronic music yet..i think that its pretty obvious that it WOULD be a success considering the Toronto house/techno/trance scene
im surprised that no one has organized it yet
i think it could be 'MASSIVE ' :tongue3 |

hm international center ... i wonder how it would sound in there..its all concrete almost right??
that could be a good idea for a party
well if a few of us from here decide to get some serious bank loans i guess we could throw some massiveness :happy2: |

you would loose money no matter what ... :(
1:25 POD is the ratio. Tha't 800 cops for 20,000 ppl event. And they run about 40 - 50 an hr.
Venue doesn't cost that much ... it's the PODS. |
