Downsview Airbase is just a open field ... the venue they used for WEMF 2000 was better then that. |
Not quite the case...They have lots of room indoors as well. I used to go there yearly for a large aviation show till it was moved to oshawa. They had good sized trade buildings/hangers for the exhibit.
Mmmmmmm planes:p |

1. Downsview Airbase
reason: by far one of the largest open air venues that's located within the GTA. it's large, accessible, parking and by public transit and has shown that it can host large events in the past. there's almost no limit as to how many people can fit on the grounds. but personally i hav a slight partiality towards open air spaces when it comes to large parties.

The one thing that made any of the massives in past years fiscally doable in Toronto, was the fact it was all ages.
Also they basically split the facility using fabric walls to make other "rooms" for specific genres.
If we can get a sporting venue, or one large room with one stage (I voted ACC ) I can see it do-able.
I just don't know if the support would be there without the youngins and jungle.. both which I want no part of in a big event. |

Jungle is a must! The reason why TO even has a scene, back in 1993 ... Jungle was the first genre in the scene. Much later on, everything else came ... and what shocks me the most, house was the last to join.
The jungle room always was the most rammed, packed and stable room in the rave scene ... regardless the size of the event. Every all age event must include jungle for it to be a success. |
