I went to Taverna Opa last night to celebrate a friend's birthday.
There was a total of about 15 people. So yes, greek music, everyone dancing on the tables, chicks dancing, greek music, sometimes one or two trance commercial songs ( this is Taverna Opa @ Ocean Drive, Hollywood ) ..
So yeah, it was fun, pretty packed though, noisy, plates braking and flying everywhere.. interesting ( Note, supposedly you pay for every plate that you brake .. hence we werent part of the plate braking ).
The fun and most interesting and stressing part of the night was paying the bill.
There was a total of 14 corona's drank ( supposedly ). It seemed that there were lot more corona's posted on the bill the number drank .. but w.e.. Besides that, there were like 2 drinks, two cokes, and a huge Dish with Fillete Minuon, Chicken, Lamb and rice.. for everyone to have a small bite off.. Total price.. 320+ Dollaras.. so yeap, there were people that did not eat but drank two coronas or drank a drink and one little piece of fillet.. everyone ended up paying like 15-20-30 bucks.. I payed 30 bucks myself for eating a piece of Fillete minuon, a little piece of Chicken ( Im talking little small ass pieces ) .. and 1 Corona. So Im just posting this and wondering, as this could be a concern, an unexpected one, hence there will surely be a huge amount of TA"s, and surely there will be some unresponsible human been that could forget what they drank or how many they drank or not pay attention to the situation.. multiply this amount of beens a number and we got a missing amount of $$ to be payed in the upper 100's.. just posting this, you guys may have all figured out though how this will be and such, but let me assure you that, whenever there is one big bill, there's always a mess up.. especially when everyone drink a huge amoungt of alcohol . |

i was there with felipe, it was a disaster...
if the dinner is held there, count me out.... sorry...
i ended up paying $35 because some ******s refused to pay up more than $15 and I STILL say we got ripped off too |

i still think that getting this event catered by the hotel in which im staying is a good idea.. the only problem would be getting everyone to pay, but paypal may be a good idea... i remember when will from ets global opened a paypal account to help ppl pay for their flight to ATL... id be willing to help out with it...
ok damon... i know youre gonna rip me, but this opa doesnt sound super promising.... |

When I talked to the owner last month I told him our situation. He said we can put all the meals on one bill and then everybody can order drinks separate.....im not sure how the place is set up but if they have a bar, I would just order my drinks at the bar to eliminate confusion. I don't think they are going to rip us off.....they were very easy people to talk to.
Cynthia, I still don't think having the party catered at the Sheraton downtown is a great idea unless they have free parking and again, we still have the problem with getting everybody to pay up front with pay pal. Last year almost half of the people that said they were coming, didn't even show.....so I don't think it's possible to get everybody to pay up front. How does everybody else feel about this???
Everybody don't get your panties in a bunch just yet, Damon needs to get his ass down to Miami and meet with the owner to sort the rest of this all out. I have a good feeling everyhting will go smooth.:toothless |
