Ory: your statement

"In __________ hip-hop, the focus isn't on the DJ, it's on the vocalist. People just don't pay attention to the instrumental part."

might wanna add a word here. like "accessible"? you were generalizing the entire genre. that's what i reacted to.

The No. 1 thing should be irrelevant, because it doesn't really mean that Tiesto is the #1 DJ in popularity. The DJ Mag poll is mainly voted on by readers of the magazine, which doesn't typically have stories aout hip-hop, not to mention the promotional push certain DJs and their labels make to get more votes. It's like asking who's the best athlete in the world in a rugby magazine, you wont get many people voting for American Football players.

I readily admit I like McProg up to a certain amount of songs in a row, but I think that it's not because it's accessible in the U.S. that many people like "American Prog", it's because it can be simple and catchy and a lot of people who find out about that like the hooks.

It's really not that available here, as most record stores carry several dozen albums mixed by the Happy Boys, DJ Sammy, and house and hip-hop. It's difficult to find anything more than PVD, Tiesto, Armin, Sasha or the other bigger names. In order to listen to ASOT or GDJB, you have to make time during the middle of a Thursday afternoon or late Sunday night when you should be sleeping and be by a computer. I live in the 3rd largest city in the country and only 2 venues bring EDM through regularly and hardly anyone packs the place to capacity unles its Tiesto, Armin, Sasha, PVD or Oakey. If someone wants to become a bedroom McProg DJ, you aren't going to find anything to play unless you have something shipped from overseas. McProg is just as hard to find here as any other type of EDM, I think a few more people just put the effort into finding it because they like the hooks and melodies.

WHY DOES YOUR POST HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FUTURE OF ASOT, YOU ? I HATE YOU. YOUR MOM IS HOT.

Like you know, you only listen to progressive, how on earth could you know about other forms of music, while I just see you disrespecting every form of music here, except progressive? Just like every other statement you made in all the threads here, they're based on nothing, you just cut yourself in the fingers. You just think you know everything and heared everything after listening to your beloved Sasha. But you don't know nothing. You haven't even been to a club. So just shut up, just klinging on live-sets and an additude as big as Europe doesn't give you eternal knowledge. And yes, Tiesto is a lame mixer, ar least I can say that because I actually saw doing that lame mixing.

Have you not been paying attention? I listen to all kinds of music, dickface.

Sorry, I thought it was implied. Sys-J and I were talking about how accessible hip-hop is, and then you came and mentioned a somewhat underground rap act, I assume?

Sorry man, but this thread hasn't been about ASOT since maybe the 3rd page. I'd love for all this stuff to stop as well, since music doesn't get discussed here anymore, because it always gets hijacked. Since it was hijacked long ago, I figured there's no harm in adding my 2 cents on the ongoing discussion.

I'd like to get back on subject, but I don't even know where to begin searching for where ASOT's new time is even lsted in here.

Indeed. Do I have to link you to the gayest trance anthem-contest, Tiesto-lover?

Get your head out of your ass, and smell the fresh air. You're much to young to have your head so deep in your rear end. You can't back things up, you have a lack of experience .

-I like Dutch Supersaws
-I like gay tranceanthems
-I like prog. too
-Oh, did I forget to mention I like hardtrance too, oh..well...amongst all of my bad, gay, tranceanthems I also like hardtrance

Deal with it.

How can I not back things up? I'm talking about what I do know;

1: The DJs of accessible hip-hop groups don't get noticed
and
2: Tiesto is a bad mixer. You even said so yourself.
