I don't have a problem with people ranting and raving, but at least when you do, do it right and with vigour. Your rant is not only weak but completely non-sensical. Those people that can do the shuffle, and do it well, had to begin somewhere didn't they??? I highly doubt they were born with an innate capability to shuffle perfectly from the get-go, and thus, must have made a mess of something that is really amazing to watch. But guess what? They stuck to it and turned into those people that you now enjoy watching. So give us beginners a break. Yes, we'll things up a bit at the beginning, but we'll get it eventually, and turn into the tachyons of this world which you bow down to. Of course, we'll give you a kick in the crotch when you do bow down, because you failed to realize that we were the people you ranted about initially.

Furthermore, I don't see what exactly pisses you off with the fact that a local dance, tried tested and true in your own backyard, has gained international fame and popularity. Grow up and come to the realization that creating something great is bound to spread. And once it does, instead of moaning that everyone's doing it, the scene is not what it used to be, how it's not underground anymore, blah blah blah, relish the fact that some person's dancing style half-way across the world was inspired by you and your people. I know I would be damn proud.

Thanks for the suggestions guys :) I'll definitely look into those ASAP.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!:stongue:

dude, if u saw what he is referring to would seriously re think ur stupid post! Watch them shuffle when the music has stopped or shuffle at the same speed to tek house as they do for hard house, and u'll see what i mean. Good shuffling looks great, but he's not having a go at the begginers, he's bagging the fact that they dont dance to the music, they just copy what everyone else is doing.

The melbourne shuffle nowadays looks nothing like it used to, not that that is a bad thing as such, it's just different. Believe it or not, alot of it these days is exrtremely uncoordinated and out of time (there are some ing awesome ppl out there i.e tachyon, but not all or even most).

Maybe you should have been around to see it when it started and see it now before you make such stupid comments;)

You are quite the dense one  Let's review this thread from the beginning, shall we. I ask a very simple question, regarding shuffling shoes: do people, in general, use specific shoes to shuffle with, in order to better slide along the dance floor?

Seems like quite the innocuous question, and a reasonable one at that. I highly doubt you'll disagree with the fact that some shoes, with certain soles, are better than others. People won't shuffle with 6 pound steel toe boots I reckon.

In answer to my question, I have the first self-deluded humourist who insults the entire thread and calls it stupid. Then I have your buddy, which many of you have been busy defending this entire thread and who can't respond to my post on his own for whatever reason, who quotes the wannabee funny-man, thus implicitly agreeing with him about this thread's supposed stupidity. I ask, very simply, why is that?

Well, according to his post, he answers my query in the form of a semi-comprehensible rant about the fact that too many people who attempt to shuffle now do it terribly, that they've destroyed a beautiful art form, and that he longs to see it only in its purest form as represented by some of the old school shufflers, such as tachyon, whom he bows down to by the way. I ask, again, what this rant has to do with my initial post about shuffling shoes? It seems, to me at least, that this person's reaction was triggered by the fact that I'm a person who seeks some advice about shuffling, in this case, the type of optimal shoes to be used, and that this, in his mind, epitomizes the problem with the shuffle today and all those newbies who attempt to do it.

As far as I'm concerned, I need not be there "at the beginning" to appreciate where he's coming from, since I understand perfectly what he's trying to get at, and I find it not only lame but furthermore petty. Obviously, people who can't shuffle properly, who don't do it to the beat, who can't dance to the music, who it up and so forth are newbies. So yes, he is "bagging the newbies", since expert shufflers would obviously dance to the beat. Logical deduction is rather simple and you should try using it from time to time...along with correct grammar and spelling.

Finally, I don't understand what exactly in my original post about shuffling shoes elicited such over-exaggerated reactions from some here, especially claims of stupidity, but I find it completely ridiculous that I actually have to sit here and rehash the entire episode from scratch to hopefully convey the lunacy of this entire saga. In all honesty, if you don't have anything semi-constructive to say in a thread, kindly stfu.

Well, he obviously fooled me with his previous oh-so brilliant response.

Me too ;)

Alright then, I'll answer the question.

Don't bother using talc or water, its annoying to other people and in some cases baned.
Some shoes are better than others obviously, mine are especially bad (colorado's are very grippy).
Best bet is to stick duct tape to the bottom of your shoes, works a treat, or steal yourself some bowling shoes (not that i condone that sort of thing, I used to work at a bowling center  )

That was you don't have to get any special shoes, you can just use what you have, and what's comfortable and more importantly fits well around the ankle.

That is all.

At no point did i make any reference to your perfectly valid request for advice regarding preferable footwear for shuffling.

If you want help with this, go for it, ask away!

To those who who flame u for aksing, i dont agree with, which is why if you take the time to read once more what i have written you'll see i didnt at any point supporting what they have said.

My post was in response to ur ridiculous statements about the validity of trevgeeza's comments.

You have blatantly misinterpreted what he was saying and instead of asking for clarification, you continued to make stupid comments.

He and I both know that it will never be done like it used to because too few from that time are still doing it.

His comment does not need to be a response to what you have asked, his comment is relevant to the topic of the thread and he is entitled to his point of view.

Your comment about not needing to be there at the beginning to appreciate where it came from, and your coment that those ing it up are obviously 'newbies', is also a prime example of what a moron you really are.

I know people who have been 'shuffling' for a long time and still have no ing idea that you are supposed to do it to the beat.

Over in Cananda you may get a little hint of what the shuffle is all about, but you really need to come here to see what a joke it has become! There are still some who are trully awesome to watch ( as Trevgeeza stated by bowing to tachyon) but for the majority doing it,it is nothing short of embarrasing.

so kindly STFU!

Yeah, I was actually spilling water on the floor last time I went to a rave to make it slidy and got some pretty nasty looks from people. But I like your idea of bowling shoes...never thought of it before :p
