You obviously need to be taken by the hand, and slowly walked through this entire discussion don't you. My comments about how dense you are still stand, for you see, when someone quotes someone else's post in agreement, then he obviously supports that person's statement. When Trevgeeza quoted the comment previously posted about this thread's supposed stupidity, it implicitly means that he agrees with the supposed stupidity of this thread. When he then goes on his rant, I am very much entitled to assume that he makes a link between what he says and the supposed stupidity of this thread. Otherwise, why would he quote the other post to begin with??! So not only are you dense, but you're not very perceptive either. And for effect, here's your little smiley face making a wink ;) You seem to like that one...here it is again ;)

Mediterranean blood is what it is, and you for one, should know at least that much. If you're not so subtly referring to me being involved in a dispute in this thread, then coming from someone who's Greek, that doesn't really hold much weight. If I've completely misread that one, and you're referring to Lebanese in general across Australia, then I apologize and can see why you'd get annoyed.

Well, I'll take that as capitulation on your part, because you don't seem like the type of person who would give up so easily if you had a chance to win a battle. As for debating something I have little to no idea about, I completely take your word for it. But you seem to misconstrue my gripe. I am only attacking certain people for making innane comments about a question I had. That is all.

As for coming to Australia, I definitely plan on doing so, and I'll make sure to seek you out and shove that little smiley up your ass ;) I kid , I kid...I really do love that smiley ;)

Yes yes, Tachyon, which we all bow down to...and not to sound like an ass, but if I'm hurting your head, stop reading my posts. Quite simple isn't it.

Fair point.

Furthermore, I don't see what exactly pisses you off with the fact that a local dance, tried tested and true in your own backyard, has gained international fame and popularity.

Popularity amoungst "the newbies" as you refer to them maybe, but lets see you go to any other city in australia for a night out, tell them your from melbourne and listen to all the... "oh where they all do that ed up dancing with hats and clown pants and ." I'd like to see your overwhelming sense of pride when that happens.

I think the source of trevgeeza's so-called 'rant' came from the evolution of melbourne shuffle. these days, the majority of ppl who does this particular style doesn't actually 'shuffle'. they seem to move their feet frantically and totally ignored the fact that shuffle will only look good if you dance in sync with the beats.

what happened next? they realised they suck, asked for the next guy who they think can do it better, then tried to follow his footsteps. they developed a routine which will suck even more if their so-called 'mentor' turns out doesn't know about dancing.

but how about ppl who shuffle well? of course they start from somewhere. but these ppl learn from the best, the way shuffle should be done. none of those hat twirls and running man crap. the majority of ppl who claimed to be able to shuffle in melbourne nowadays seems more interested in catching their hats before it hits the ground or to do running man spins rather than keeping their feet in sync with the beats.

when i started going out to parties and witnessed the old skool style shufflers, i was struck in awe on how smooth and free flowing their styles are. no two styles are the same but you can tell the distinct feet movement that was driven by the beats. i wouldn't dare pull one of those guys aside and teach me how to do it, i never did. nothing can be more irritating than being asked to stop dancing and give a free lesson in shuffling. this is what happened nowadays.

Epicurus - The stuff that you have probably watched on the melbourne shuffle is all the ppl that think it's great and wonderful, the dancers themselves are again probably the best that can do it, but what you don't see is the destruction to the scene it does when you see all these "shuffler's" out in all their fluro gear dancin in the middle of the street infront of stores in large groups, and havin any passer byes catagorise "the raver" as one of those infront of them, Again lets see how much pride you have when you're just a normal everyday person who loves trance and dance parties be looked down upon because of what these other ppl are doin.

Then I have your buddy, which many of you have been busy defending this entire thread and who can't respond to my post on his own for whatever reason, who quotes the wannabee funny-man, thus implicitly agreeing with him about this thread's supposed stupidity. I ask, very simply, why is that?

My assumption was that gumble thought its a stupid thread because we are supposed to be in adults and we are discussing "the right type of shoes to maximise shuffling efficiency" That i agree to.

dude, if u saw what he is referring to would seriously re think ur stupid post! Watch them shuffle when the music has stopped or shuffle at the same speed to tek house as they do for hard house, and u'll see what i mean. Good shuffling looks great, but he's not having a go at the begginers, he's bagging the fact that they dont dance to the music, they just copy what everyone else is doing.

Do they show you that on the videos and footage that you watch, or do they show you them doing it front of tv camera's telling reporters "that you'd be stupid to assume that ppl dont take drugs at these events, everyone does it" That comment was broadcast on our local news. By this point i'm sure that pride you spoke of having earlier probably isn't there anymore.

In order to appreciate where i'm coming from you do actually need to be there at the beginning, how else do you understand where i'm coming from, when my comments are precisely about what the shuffle is compared to what it was.... and you spend so much time telling us where in stupid

Oh I see. You're one of those jaded souls whose deepest sensibilities get easily hurt. Listen, wankers will be wankers, and ignorant blithering fools will be ignorant blithering fools. If they miscategorize how you people dance in Melbourne and in other parts of Australia, and that puts you down, you only need to look at the overwhelming positive vibe the Shuffle has gotten everywhere else across the world.

Again, why do you care so much about what ignorant fools think of you. You really need to develop tougher skin than that if you're planning on living beyond young adulthood.

Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that the Australian sub-forum was a place where only grown-up topics were to be discussed. I apologize for my childish thread. If you want to talk about the meaning of life, the problem of free will, God's existence, and how the caramel gets into the Caramilk, I'd be more than glad to accomodate you

This is a problem that the entire rave scene faces. It is neither indigenous to Australia, Melbourne, or anywhere else in the world. We love this type of music and we have to deal with the consequences. That includes the above , and it includes all of us, not only people who shuffle.

No I don't, for you see, I can merely extrapolate where you're coming from using my own experience regarding other dance techniques. People do dance using other techniques you realize. I liquid, and I've done it far longer than anyone in this forum has shuffled for. So I know all about newbies trying out their moves and making the entire thing look like . And believe me, if you think bad shuffling is painful to look at, bad liquid is even worse. But at the same time, I applaud them for their efforts and their attempts and wish them the best. Unlike you, I think it's great that they try, up, and try again, despite the fact that they make a mockery of themselves in the eyes of some.

Finally, regarding your comment about my spending so much time telling you and select others how stupid you are, I am in the right to do so since I am merely defending myself against similar accusations that were thrown in my direction...accusations that were not only made based on grounds that are baseless --- grown-up topics  ---, but made before I insulted anyone at all. So I suggest you take a look in the mirror before attempting to dish out weak insults at the end of your posts that are somehow supposed to close your argument with force.
