Exactly the point I was just about to make. Yeah we all can sit here and debate why or why not Armin should have been picked for the topic of scratching because we all know more about EDM in general than most (especially here in the States where it's not nearly as popular as in Europe), but the most important aspect of it all is the exposure it gives to the genre.

Some, like myself, will argue that exposure is only good to a certain extent. ;)

if you're being exposed to stuff like that & the 'american progressive' and gabriel & dresden & stuff, no wonder there's so many clueless people your side of the pond ;)

there has to be some sort of copyrigt infringement on that right?? i will save that for another day if i find out more.. anyways, my whole point of this thread was point out the fact that the US is slowly coming around to EDM in some fashion. But i do agree with most that he wouldnt be the best to teach..

Isn't he the DJ for the Beastie Boys? He's a pretty wicked turntablist, especially on "Three MCs and one DJ". I doubt he can mix tracks very well though.

Recently Armin commented on one of the world scratching competitions,he said it's all about having your own style, he didn't say you have to mix like that exactly to be a proper DJ
(do mad scratches and spin 360° on TTs while juggling vinyls behind your back), just to be unique, hence he has his own style, and I reccon that's what's on page 42. if you don't like it, don't read it.
