Doesnt the efx500 only go up to 1 bar? The highest I can see on the efx500 is a 4/1 button. Isnt this 1 bar?
The EFX1000 goes up to 8/1 isnt this two bars?
I dont see a four bar button on either units. |
hang on, i really need to re-lubricate my brain before use. you're right ;) |

| Well, we've all heard a vocoder effect before, but how was the humanizer effect? What does it do? make robot voices sound human?:p |

| just googled it, apparently it recreates human vowel sounds, i.e. a, e, i, o, u. probably does it with filters or something... |

A man after my own heart
i use a cloud several nighs a week- it is one of the best club mixers ever.period.
A friend has one at home, and he is toying with the notion of selling it to me.... cant wait.
as for the EFX:
the only MAJOR thing i can see that offers over my existing efx500 is the 2 bar loop as opposed to being stuck with one bar now. Very useful.
Other than that, i think it was a big mistake getting rid of the three band eq- especially as when playing back a loop, the eq only affected the dry signal from the mixer, not the loop... ;) useful
And the price is just nuts in comparison!
Will be nice to try it soon.... |

So anyone have any reviews of this thing yet?
Thinking maybe for Christmas I may treat myself to this... if not, for sure a 500... rather than start a new thread, I thought maybe any of you guys who've now used both can offer any input... I'm curreently running CDJ 800's and an Allen & Heath Xone 62... |

| In my opinion it would be well worth it to get one of these. I have the 500 and i get a bit frustrated with the limitations it has on it (for example only going up to 4 beats) Defently thinking about getting one of these but first gonna be investing in getting the 909 Looks like a sweet mixer. As for the difference in sound quality lets all be honest Inside of a club wheres theres so much background noise and reverb ect. Ur not really gonna be paying attention and/or notice The difference in sound quality between the two. Except maby if ur in japan. Those clubs r crazy good. |

considering the efx500 is a staple in most clubs.. how much of a difference will the sound quality be? sure itll sound cleaner, but with all the noise/reverb/distortion in alot of clubs anyawy, i dont think its a huge deal. however, the quality is important if youre going to use this for producing.
in general though, after playing with both the efx500/1000 and kaoss pad 2, you can be way more creative with the kp2. one of the biggest arguments for the efx is that you can 'duplicate a sound over and over again'. sure that can be a good thing.. but considering 10,000 djs use the same efx with the same effects (and the good combos being used all the time) the 'duplicated sound' gets old... in my opinion at least. the kp2 gives you alot of freedom, and its hella fun to mess aound with the touch pad and really manipulate some tracks.

| I don't know where a lot of you are getting these price quotes from but it retails $800 tops and is sick. I have been using it for a little time now and am in love w/ it. Adds a lotta depth to a set. Shouldn't be used to detract from track selection but instead help songs sound different than original and liven them up. |
