I had it BAD. What worked for me is this Neutrogina On The Spot stuff. It's benzol peroxide (the only substance proven to actually kill acne bacteria, apparantly), but the difference is that it's 2.5% benzol peroxide. All others are 10%, the maximum allowed without a perscription, letting them cash in on the "maximum strength" . In reality, 10% will molest your skin and probably make your acne worse.

You can find the neutrogina stuff at all the grocery stores, pretty much. Wash your face with water (dont use soaps or anything, they dry you out too much), pat it dry, then wait 5-10 minutes until your skin is really dry. Then put on a light amount all over (even if part of your face is clear at the time, it will help keep more from forming). Wait 5-10 minutes after that, then put on a good moisturizer. Do this twice a day, for about two weeks. After two weeks start putting a pretty generous amount on.

I pretty much gauraningtee that it will work. I tried pretty much everything and they did jack . This did the trick.

I dont know if anyone else suggested this (or if youve cleared the problem), but toothpaste on acne works wonders. It severely dries the area of the skin it is applied to. If Im having bad acne, I will apply the toothpaste before I go to bed (let it dry before youre out for the night). Usually clears up zits or at least notably shrinks them in two to three applications of a couple hours each.

Yes, this is a serious post.

Are you serious?

I dont have acne, and I never got pimples before, but these last few months i've been getting them...I have not changed my diet or anything like that, so I dunno...maybe my balls are just dropping:stongue:

Anyways, this sounds stupid but...what kind of toothpaste did you use?

Sometimes Crest, or Colgate, it doesnt really matter. If youre using anything with a mint flavoring, there will be a bit more of a sting then regular toothpaste, but neither is bad. Daily cleanser's will also help with your skin, but they dont stop all pimples from occurring. If they did, those companies wouldnt make any money.

Anyways, like I said, they really dry out your skin so try to only dab where your pimples are at. But if youre anything like me, toothpaste is the way to go when you want to eliminate zits fast. Popping them first doesnt hurt, but doesn't seem to be necessary.

you could get on accutane.. it shuts off all oil production in your body. course then again you have to go in for toxicity tests every now and then.

i just have this creme called benzaclin from my doctor.. smells like but it gets the job done for the occasional pimple. might wanna ask about it.

I'm going to tell you this because it works. It hurts like a mother, but it works.

If you're really desperate, go to the grocery store and buy a tube of Colgate toothpaste. The basic one. No special chemicals for whitening or anything.

Put a dab of it on the pimple. Make sure to get it right over the core.

Now grab the edge of the bathroom counter and grit your teeth, because it's probably burning like a son of a bitch.

Leave it on there. Let it dry. The pain will subside, eventually. Next morning, you should notice a significant change.

This doesn't work for everyone, but it worked like magic for me in high school. I eliminated ALL of my acne within a week, and it stayed gone because any time a new one cropped up, I'd hit it with a dab.

Hope this helps.

Bump! (pun intended)

I mean, i got it bad... At least 15 pimples with a lot of repairing red spots (apparantly its good to have those instead of holes where the acne used to be.) Would this still work?

Accutane is some ridiculously toxic . Avoid it like the plague. Seriously, go google for accutane side effects.

Oh, and fyi, your skin NEEDS OIL. Skin with natural oil = healthy skin. If you have oily skin, just wash your damn face every day with water, it does the trick. All these acne treatments that dry your skin out, whether topical or internal, are just making it worse. Acne is an actual bacteria, and the only substance proven to kill it is benzol peroxide.

Did you read my posts? :P

This severely dries out your skin, but will work. 2 applications of a couple of hours each is usually enough for me to kill my zits. It doesnt totally erase them, but they will often be reduced to a little red spot. The next day, most zits are gone for me.

This is an excellent short-time period solution, if you want to reduce or shrink zits and you only have a couple of hours.
