| oh man, i just wanna say how relieved i am-- my uncle pete (mom's brother) has been battling pancreatic cancer... (if you guys know anything about various types of cancer, pancreatic is about the worst you can get..) and he had an 8 hour surgery today at Sloan Kettering..they're sewing him up as i type.. even tho the actual cancerous tissue was only about 2mm in size, they had to take out large parts of various organs including the entire gall bladder, and parts of the liver, stomach (had to reroute his small intestines too), pancreas as a precaution because pancreatic cancer has a tendency to spread like wildfire after it is removed)… so, the procedure went good, thank the LORD.., i'm an emotional basketcase right now... |

i saw him on wednesday and the day after the surgery, he was walking around!!!!! the nurses were like O_o
he's incredibly strong AND he's in good spirits and was cracking jokes (he was saying he had triplets lol since they took out big chunks of the gall bladder liver and pancreas) despie the fact that laughing for him was a real pain-- the top of his abdomen is stapled from one side to the other.. over 160 stitches.. poor guy.. he goes home tomorrow or wednesday the doctors say..
