For tomorrow you really need to keep your cool, i mean there is no reason at all to go Nato on these ppl, they just doing their job. Your son doesn't have a good record on his back and he's got about half a year till school is over? And he ruins it by picking a fight with a n00b. To be honest this kid needs his privedges taken of him, for a long while. But that's up to you. You have to choose the right decision that's good for your son in the long run.
I know this may not be what you want to hear but something that needs to be said. |

Agree, but don't agree the other two instigators are going to be allowed to stay. Adds more fuel to my fire about equal punishment desite the fact he was expelled before. Hell, when I brought him back, he was supposed to be back equal. He ran 100 yds per game for their sorry ass football team and is a leading basketball scorer. Hell, my son thought the whole deal was about his fight last night at a basketball game. There was a free-for-all where 3 got ejected from his team, so they put him in and he took an elbow to the face which resulted in an immediate ass whipping on the instigator on his part, but WTF this is normal in sports...

i agree with you on equal punishment on some level, but in this case i don't think he deserves it, i hate to say that but it's my opinion. If you do something wrong you get punished, if you do it again you it gets worse. It don't matter if he ran 100 yrds or flew the whole football field. Fighting ain't normal in sports, it just happens. I think there is something psychologically wrong that he really needs to be talked to about. The only person that can do that is you. |

he needs professional help because ppl in the military don't believe in sissy things like talking. maybe if smoke hits him harder he'll "get it" :nervous: errr wait second maybe thats where he learned his violent behavior from |

I dont think his excellence on the sports field has anything to do with letting him stay.
An Army Academy preaches discipline which would bind him to the rules of sportsmanship. These rules say you do not strike another player, regardless of the situation. If he hits you, you dont hit him back; he will almost certainly be penelized. Theres a rule in hockey and many other sports. The retaliator ALWAYS gets caught. This is no exception. This isnt the same in real life: A sports field is not real life.
His previous expulsion for a much more serious reason (drugs, which I dont agree with but is quite serious in an Academy's eyes), makes him more suceptible to getting into trouble. They might have said "equal" for his return, but they obviously meant, "If you up again, you're gone.")
Violence in sports may be more commonplace, but does that make it ok? If the kid struck him and it was on film anywhere (these games are usually videotaped for scouting purposes), he could file an assault charge if he wanted, and the first person would, at the least, be ejected (likely). His ejection from the game is not too contestable.
On the other hand, I think you'll win the argument and your child will be reinstated. If this happens, I recommend impressing on him that he's walking a fine line, and not to up again. Always bailing your son out makes him think he can get away with anything. |
