Hi all,

Did you ever wake up with some 'shock' going through your body?
I don't mean an electric shock, and it also doesn't hurt, but when the shocking thing happens, you are awake instantly again.
Most of the time it happens to me when i'm lying on my back in bed, and i'm just about to go in a deep sleep. Then i usually see myself falling from a building, or taking a wrong step or something, and then it happens: you wake up with this sort of shock going through your body... And the weird thing is: when i'm awake i kind of like it that it happened to me again :D

Ever experienced this??

once in a while it happens to me, it has to be one of the most intense feelings ever...

I think this is called a monoclamatic jerk.

If this isn't what you're talking about, it's a similar phenomenon.

yeah that happens a lot in that weird Twilight stage when you're not quite awake, yet not quite sleeping either.
verndogs
when I trip over something in my dreams I get that feeling

its wild. ive had that. im usually half-asleep, and i start dreaming. ill usually be walking and trip, and then i jump awake. one time i was on top of a 50 meter high basketball backboard, the sky was dark orange, and i jumped for whatever reason, but i didnt hit the ground. i just got shocked awake like u.

I did a paper on out-of-body experiences and it's believed that when this happens to you, what you're talking about, you're actually on the brink of an OBE. Vast majority of people wake up though, because it's really a reflex thing, but every so often you don't wake up and fall asleep. And thats when the OBE occurs.

I don't wanna lie, because I can't remember, but over 85% of the worlds population experience numerous OBE's during their lifetime.

Yeah I get those too. I get them alot at school when I'm trying to sleep, then I wake up and look around to see if anybody saw me...:nervous:
