hardhouse - the new trance?? (pg. 3)

I think it was at the end of 99 when everyone, for some strange bloody reason, predicted that hard house would be the next big thing. I still think that it was just some self-fulfilling prophecy that it did become as large as it did - although judging from the music scene in Australia - Sydeny in particular (where it's all Hard House/Nu NRG according to my friends who live up there) - it seems to have struck a chord with people world-wide.
Having said that, if trance died at the end of 99 (like everyone was saying when they predicted the rise of hard house) then hard house died at the end of 2000. I don't have a lot of time for it to be honest - though BK and Nick Sentience, both together and seperately - seem to have a few nice ideas. They certainly have much greater flexibility, and produce a much more unique brand of music than all the other hard house stuff I've heard (which sounds all the same to these untrained ears).
Anyway, each to their own I guess. :) |

Well, it was a Norwegian newspaper, though.
But if someone of you know a good hardhouse mp3 site with only UK hardhouse please write it.

I don't think HH is going to replace Trance, but I think that there
will be a few DJ's who'll go off and try to advance HH in its own
way...
So, yet another niche.
Y'also have to remember that the general public really can't tell
the difference between the not-so-subtle differences between the
niches.
Where Trance goes from here is where we take it. Put out the music
you want to hear, and if it's good, it'll go. If it's crap, nobody
will notice. |

| last year one of my friends dragged me to a local club to see Dj Irene. It was prolly a combination of spiced rum, bad mcdonalds and the music, but i almost vomited. NOTE: I had not consumed enough booze to make me sick. food poisoning is likely, but when a hard house Dj starts playing old trance songs you hear at frat parties(yes she played Dj Jean - The Launch) i just cant respect that. they werent even hard house remixes, just the standard fare. my friend thot she was sweet, i thot i should never see her again - and it lowered my respect for hard house. YES it isnt really house. Progressive and Deep shouldnt be associated with that crap. out> |

hmm..chicago hard house...so yummy, its hard, yet funky and full of soul to shake your booty to.
I like hard house, I like Nu-Nrg(ALOT) I like hard trance, I like trance, I spin it all. U can build a beautiful progression of music going all the way up to the nu-nrg from emotional trance..get the fluffy stuff that makes me soo happy out of the way, and knock em all dead with crazy hard . But 160 BPM? that kinda insane..more like 150.
Hard house rulez, but its not gonna 'knock off' trance |

First of all some media or whatever saying HH is the new trance is of course a pile of bull, HH can't replace trance and trance can't replace HH.. it's 2 different things in my opinion
I'm a great fan of trance and hardhouse as well as techno and some other house styles but it's sad to see some of the reactions in this forum :sadgreen: .. most of you in here don't seem very open minded, and i thought the average trance fan's pretty open mindend :conf: .. maybe i'm wrong.. or maybe it's the trance scene that's going downwards because it's getting more of a hype by the day.. :rolleyes:
it's a good thing to give your opinion but that doesn't mean that everything you dislike plain sucks ! |
