Let me apologize in advance but I think all you guys are smoking crack. this entire album is very cheesy.
Let me explain myself.
I download itunes and bought all the the songs. I listened to all the tracks but did so grinding my teeth the entire way through.
to be honest i wasn't impressed with the male vocal tone nor the lyrics on any of these songs. the vocal pitch is very high;almost homosexual in nature.
Don't get me wrong I love male vocals. But imo it just doesn't sound good here.
All the songs are constructed in such a simple structure with sound elements that really don't intrigue me.
For example remember that song this summer called Jump the Next Train? Remember how high pitched the male vocals were? Remember how empty the lyrics sounded? Remember how simple the structure was? Well this is how I felt about this entire Second Sun Album.
He said She Said is the stand out track on the album. But its still bad. I started listening to this track. 1 minutes into the song I realized this sounded like a typical trance tune.Nothing that made me say 'wow. this is cool' or made me feel like I want to dance. Worse, it has the cheesest female vocals in it too.
I am not sure where all this hype is coming from? could it be the Vandit syndrome? Or the Paul Van Dyk Playlist syndrome? I don't know. But what I do know is that you shouldn't waste your money on this album like I did.

never liked second sun. i'm not surprised these gay male vocals sounds like whack, because they usually do. i wish they would remove all those horrible vocals.
"he said she said" could be decent if it wasnt for those. |

Oh please, people putting down Second Sun because of their own pathetic insecurities. If you don't like male vocals, fine. People have different preferences, and I actually dislike most male vocals myself. But saying you don't like their vocals because they sound "gay" is just immature and weak. Everyone sang like that in the 80s. Savage Garden stormed the airwaves several times in the 90s with such a vocal style.
Personally I like Second Sun's instrumentals more. I think their vocals are superfulous to the tracks themselves, and admire the group for their production style most. Some people don't like Second Sun's sound. I accept that. But I find their style enormously refreshing in a bland universe of supersaws and plodding proggers. |

| I just hated all their productions, something lacked and I just think they are talentless but as Cobalt so nicely stated, it is better than a ton of supersaws (cough* airbase) and blandness (cough* armin, markus and co.). Tho cobalt, if its , why say its good, tho with that being said most people on TA don't have a clue and if they did, they would be dangerous. I'm not saying you don't have a clue but most people on here, just make pointless statements with no ing facts and like arturo, they join the hype. Well back to Porter's album! |
