| I've been reading up on this. Most likely they're just trying to get negotiation leverage with the United States now focusing more of its efforts on Iran. |

I really hope this is true and that they are sane enough not to do anything stupid. For all I know, this can be a signal for WWIII. Scary . |

i wouldnt go as far as saying that this would be WWIII. it sounds like North Korea is alone and wouldn't have the backing to do enough damage to start a world war. |

Bah, come on.
Nuclear weapons have become a simple matter of diplomacy. It's not like they're going to bomb other countries, they're just showing they're "independent". |

Do you think China wouldn't help NK? I think that's important to take in account. But i really hope this gets settled without bloodshed. |

| The US is scared of North Korea. They arent gonna go & bulley them with air attacks because North Korea has the Nukes & that's the way they like it. Things arent going to change & North Korea will never give up their Nukes. Power for a small country is good in their eyes. |

Lots of countries have nukes, this is nothing new. NK, and just about every other nuke wielding country, knows that if they start flashing them around and pointing them at other people, the whole world is gonna send 100 down their throat and vaporize their country. NK knows this, and NK doesn't want this.
They made nukes so the U.S. would think twice about invading them, since it's obvious that Bush doesn't give a rats ass about the constitution or UN law and will just invade whoever the he wants to. |
