I don't understand whats wrong with a little extra work outside of producing and mixing live...
The guy has been playing clubs for god knows how long and who are we to say he's a sellout if he's a little tired of the same thing.
Props to him for the Olympics, Disney, and any future Grammy or other Award Show nods.
Its only going to make more people like him, in turn people liking the music more, in turn maybe spawning some new producers and djs. I don't see a problem in that at all.
Let the guy have some fun!
P.S. EVERY DJ IN THE WORLD misses a mix every now and then...jesus. |

Um, possibly the same reason that Britney Spears sells out her shows in 12 minutes and Shakira doesn't? Trance is pop music in Europe, so whenever you're talking about Tiesto olympic/disneyland/etc. gigs, you have to start thinking in the mode of pop culture. There's no doubt that there are a hundred better singers than Britney, and a lot of them are pretty popular and famous, but none will ever achieve the level of fame and recognition that Britney has. This has nothing to do with talent, just marketing. It's not even sex appeal; I'm sure that if Shakira strutted around like a slut, people would fawn over her too.
So you get it yet? Recognition doesn't necessarily come from skill at one's trade - only the ability to maintain the IMAGE of a skilled tradesman. Image is everything, dude. Street cred is pretty low for Tiesto right now, especially in Europe, but street cred doesn't affect ticket sales.

You don't need an excuse to like Tiesto, you don't have to justify anything to us "haters", you're entitled to your own musical taste. But don't try to paint the rest of us as hypocrites by assuming that WE go to see Tiesto on the basis that YOU go to see Tiesto. |

| I went to give him one more shot at being how he once was, a decent dj. Since he's no longer than then I won't go anymore. Sick of arguing about this. I just have one last thing to say...notice that ever since 2002 most of those that say "Tiesto is #1" are relative newcomers to the scene, and those that aren't are just outright loyal to the dj (as should be expected, however BLIND loyalty is just retarded...)end rant. I will no longer post about how Tiesto has been on the decline anymore. Ever. At least on this forum. |

| Navid relax! :P Why do you take it personally? PvD is my favorite dj and I've had people make fun and butcher the guy, big deal. I like what I like, what anyone else thinks. I just think I have valid reasons for why he's not as good anymore and I don't blindly bash the guy (Tiesto). |
