Last night was awesome...I couldnt have asked for a better bday party, Marco V and MArk O, with all my great friends!! And the after party back here at my place was great, Cuzo glad ya called in sick and to Nat and Graham, your visit later in the evening was nice surprise.
To the NC crew, Starshine, Brutal, TDL, and Johnny....thanks again, its a bday ill never forget

Otherwise, fun times on the dance floor w/everyone. Nice having Pat as my partner in crime. Holy, scene at the coat check! Nice to meet ya MaxTO, and catch a rare sighting of Blue Neon (happy b-day) & the Polish crew, The Vrk & NFC Wave. Met a really nice Guv dancer girl in the DJ booth, and met Marco's manager, Anna, of Anna Agency. Thanks to Tordan, we met a really nice fella from India, named Samir (future TA member), who came alone to the club, had no idea who Marco was, yet somehow managed to make his way into the DJ booth, and stand right next to him, with ease. :haha:

Worst thing happened this morning after I got home and was reading the 1st reviews: the power on my computer just went DEAD. Something is wrong w/it, and I think it'll need some new part, so who knows when it'll get fixed, as I am computer illiterate. So.... if anyone is capable & able to help me out here, I'd greatly appreciate it. Dunno when I'll get my pics online now. :(
Nice to have Cuzo & Chanoa over the day after, and advenuture over to Danielle's place. (< Happy b-day again).

| It was an insane evening. It's funny though that I realize how subtle ones shift in musical tastes can be. I used to love hard tech-trance with a pounding beat and a few background effects. But despite the amazing time, I was somewhat hoping for a bit of melody in the music. |

Well, first off I have to say that I am so f'n tired right now. But, we'll get to that in a moment ;)
Kandaio and I drove down to Toronto earlier in the afternoon (got there by about 5:30). We stopped off at my friend Sarah's house and Kandaio serenated us for a while with his mad piano skills on her grand piano (much to her parents approval). Then we headed out for dinner as Kandaio and myself started the pre-show crazies (I'm sure you all know what I mean when you get all psyched up and act all retarded).
Back to Sarah's house as she got ready and we got into some more piano. Then it was off to Guv. We arrived by about 10:45 with line by-pass curtosy of none other than Shaya (thanks again ;)) to a club that already had about 200 ppl inside. Mark wasn't kicking out anything special at that point but we got a taste of fun later. Met up with Shaya and Starsearcher to chit chat and show Sarah around (oh yes, virgin Guv'er had her cherry popped ;)) By about midnight the lasers started, the music went up, the lights went down and the night started. I'm sorry, but anytime Mark is going to drop that Pink Floyd track, you know the night is off to a damn hot start.
Kandaio, Sarah, and I headed up to say 'Hi' to Mark and snap a few pics but had to bust out of there because they wanted it clear for Marco V's arrival. So we hustled downstairs and claimed our spot on the dance floor. Not 2 songs later Kandaio starts his furious tapping on my shoulder as we look up to see the unmistakable shaved head and yellow shirt or Mr. Marco V.
His first song absolutely showed he was here for a purpose; to absolutely ruin every single sole on that dancefloor before he left. Banging tune after tune, with his intense energy level was just great. Showing his appreciation for the crowd he posed for pictures and jumped around to the reaction as the crowd screamed his name and begged for more. Then it hit; the snare...the quick roll of the baseline...Kandaio thumping me on my back while screaming out loud...oh my god...Hammer and Bennet - LANGUAGE. I'm sorry ladies and gentleman (and I personally appologize to my dance partner Sarah) but when this song gets dropped at a club... stand back because WE WENT CRAZY.
Over and over Marco V cranked it up with his completely flawless mixing. He totally owned the Guv last night and there's nobody there who can say different. I can feel it in my legs and arms because I've never danced that hard in my life (I thought I went nuts at Oakie). Up we went again to the booth just as Marco V came off the stage. Kandaio had a couple seconds to chat with him and I snapped a pic but then off he went.
Just as we were leaving Shaya bursts out of the DJ booth frantically asking "Did Marco V play 'Murder Was the Bass?'. I responded with 'no' and ran down to the dancefloor for what I knew was coming. Mark ripped it for the next hour and a half but at that point, Sarah and I had nothing left. Unfortunately for Kandaio, we were done.
Off we went back to her house for some sleep. I think I got a couple hrs but then we ended up going out for a second breakfast and for some shopping for new vinyl and TIC2004.
The most annoying part was my drive back home to London. Left at 8:00 and didn't get home until 11:30. Snow outside really sucks. I suggest you all stay in.
All in all; yet another fantastic night at the Guv. Marco V delivered far above my expectations and I will definetly be going to see him again.
Good seeing all the TA's out (Starsearcher, Beba, Tatgirl, Shaya, Cuzo, etc). Always the best partiers out there.
Here are some pics (you should like one of these Starsearcher, you know the one ;). I will have the rest of them up ASAP for you guys. But as for now...sleep is in order :D

I completely forgot in my review last night as I was in such a tired daze; "Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) (Marco V remix)" completely owned me. I've been waiting for ages for him to actually play it live and I finally got my chance. I can't wait until this is actually released.
Once again, a great night all around and thank you again to all the TA's I met/hung out with. :D |

Haha NFC Wave what a review :crazy: loving it!
OK here I go with mine :happy2: (Finally rested at work and can actually type).
Got to guv at about 10:45, no lineup no problem - walked straight in, $10 cover - loving it. Looked around, the place was still relatively empty and I didn't really see anyone so I headed straight to the bar (under the DJ booth - for some strange reason I'm always going to that one). As soon as I got there I realized that a bartender I met during ultra spin was working that bar and she actually recognized me and gave me a smile :happy2:. We talked for about 5-10 minutes since she was there pretty much bored and then I saw NFC Wave and Kandaio and went to say hello. :thepirate Met their friend Sarah who was very nice and then Shaya showed up, followed by Cuzo, then Andrea (Chanoa) and pretty much the rest of the gang. Met Beba too who was a total sweetie, so night definitely go off to a wonderful start.:happy2:
Meanwhile Mark Oliver was definitely delivering the goods, was ripping the place apart! I couldn't believe that the place got so full at 12:30 already was packed and hot! Just as NFC said as soon that Pink Floyd song came on it was nuts! :toothless
Just before Marco showed up I went to talk to the bartender again for a bit, got a bottle of water and headed straight back into the TOTA massive that definitely represented. We definitely own the front and centre! :disbelief Marco was amazing, super super super track selection with some classics remixed...banging!!! :eyespop:
Half way through feet were getting tired so I went for a walk. Ran into Kandaio NFC and their friend and danced with them for a bit, then saw VRK and had a very interesting 15 minute conversation about life, girls, love and all that stuff! :stongue: Headed back to the TOTA massive and kept Beba some compay :)...went absolutely crazy when I heard "My baaaayybbeee shot meeee dowwwwn, dowwwn dowwwn...." :crazy: Looked at Pettiscool and he knew it was going down :haha: :stongue:.
Nycionx meanwhile was banging out some crazy dance moves in the front too.
All in all an awesome night, turned out MUCH better than expected. Was a pleasure meeting all the new and old faces as well. Before the night was done I ran into the bartender again who was just walking on her way out through the crowd and we talked for a bit again...great times! Guv definitely doesn't disappoint!!! MARCO MARCO MARCO...can't wait to see him again.

OH and totally forgot to mention...it was awesome meeting e*motion...what a wicked guy! Thanks for introducing me to Lex, that lingerie model girl...she was a little bit weird :p I saw her bored alone so I invited her to join us and all but she was a bit off :crazy:
