A hundred million times. Okay, that's an exaggeration. A hundred times.
There's an EDM scene in the US, sure, but it's usually dominated by Drum n Bass, House, Hard House, and Breaks. Nevermind the mainstream, where hip-hop rules all, and a few token rotations of Better Off Alone are the closest anything ever came to the airwaves.
Big festivals in the European style (e.g. Ultra) and big-city clubs tend to attract the American trance audience, as far as I can tell, though there isn't much in the way of domestic weight, save for Christopher Lawrence and a couple others. |

yup, the current trend in the UK has been very housey recently. I'd count myself lucky if i was an American TA. trance has just started gaining popularity, enjoy while you can cos House is next. |

What a stupid comment...The popularity of EDM doesn't have to be underground man...It's better if more people like it.
What has to remain underground are quality productions so we have a place to always look for good stuff.
I know it may sound like a contradiction but it's not at all. Think of all the popular DJs (all EDM genres) that still rock your world with awesome tunes that no one has heard before from unknown producers. |

Trance? What is "trance?" You mean techno? I hate that . All the same, and I hate those noises. So gross and distorted. My guitar is just as distorted but I'm not logical enough to see I'm a hypocrite.

I hope it stays that way, though. If it became big it would become more commercialized and ty than it has the past 2 years in europe (I expect flaming comments for saying that, go right ahead ;)). Well, it got a little taste of fame, look at DJ sammy. Oh wait, he licks balls. These days, it seems like trance doesn't exist geographically, but only in the past and future. |
