How much BIGGER is Trance in Europe (pg. 3)

The way I think is that real underground EDM should get a chance in the US to make the genre grow. If you think about it, even those stations that play EDM, hardly play any of the good stuff. Why not try a 24 hour real EDM station to see if tarnce, house, etc catches on? Commercial tunes will still emerge regardless if EDM becomes popular in the US or not.

I like the fact EDM isn't mainstream here, because i'd hate the fact that every club would play cheese and teeny boopers would give it a bad name.

Ever see the Marco V mysteryland video? Hell, I have never seen any kind of concert of such proportions in the U.S.

Only place youll find EDM in the U.S. is a number of small dance clubs.

Keep in mind that the capital of california, sacramento, doesnt even have a radio station remotely related to electronic music.

Why bother trying to change american culture? This country sucks anyhow. I'm waiting to finish up my masters so I can get the hell out of here...

True. I didn't mean for it to come out so harshly. Just wanna go back to Moscow or somewhere else in Europe. Seems like a better place for me. :)

having been around both countries, it's more comercial, mainstream, and well known in Europe. But in the US it depends where you are, because there are plenty of places to go see major shows that fill up with a whole lot of people. Seems that lower end dj's on our crappy radio here are starting to play trance sets at clubs on occasion, even still tho the tracks are usually very old or misslabled as "trance".

Yeah, i can't imagine what it must be like to live in america after living elsewhere. Growing up in america, I think I could adapt to living elsewhere, but suddenly coming to america is the best and worst thing all at the same time, probably. Tell us all about it, please :)

Well, I came when I was just 5 years old so at the time it wasn't much of a change. I have went back 4 times since and absolutely love it. Im no loner, but being bored on a friday night is something that'll never happen there! The people are "friendlier." Sound vague, but everyone here is mostly solitary. It might be "peace and quite" for them, but thats not how I intend to live my life.

It's pretty funny...a decade back everyone was talking about America and wanting to come here. I asked some friends in Moscow last new years and they replied, "why, what's there to do in America?"

So hopefully after I'm done with schooling I can go back. Although I wouldn't mind to see what else Europe has to offer.

i agree with this, being in the U.S. I kind of like it the way it is. My only wish is that there were more large outdoor festivals in the Summer. If it became totally mainstream it would turn into pop bull and kill the genre. Look at all the cheese in Europe that calls itself "Dance" such as Paffendorf, Starsplash, Groove Coverage and all the other crap that pisses me off, reminds of the boyband era in the 90's.

I think more EDM radio stations playing GOOD (take note of the word good, it is a very important word in the making of this point) trance & techno would be a huge help in giving EDM good exposure,i know miami has a EDM radio station, and so does Seattle. I live in JackSINville, and i know a large number of night sceners here enjoy trance, thats why there's so many damn raves, and X everywhere, I've been wishin' we had a radio station, i'll start one GOD DAMNIT, i dont know what alls involved but i know lots of ppl with money that like to invest, and i firmly believe it would be succesful in jax, just like it is in miami, and if it doesnt work.... IM MOVING TO IBIZA!!!!
