Hey guys,
I went to the autoshow last night was erally impressed by Mazda 3. It looks awesome, had an amazing package and interior and came with a sweeeeeeeeeet ass price - surprisingly lower than competitors. The question that I have is...is there a reason why it's cheaper? ;)
Does anyone own a mazda or know of someone who does? Any reviews? Experiences? I head it's a pretty good car but I would love to hear from some owners :)
Cheers! |

Actually, newly registered Cosmopolitan82 drives a precidia. 1996 w/ about 230km i believe. Not 1 single problem to date.
I'm sure she can enlighten you more when she gets a chance later tonight ;) |

From what I've heard, if you've got a Mazda and not a Ford engine under the hood, you're pretty good to go.

.. i test drove one before i bought my rsx, and it was real stiff competition. mind you it didn't perform as well as the rsx, but like you said, for the money....it's an amazing car. really responsive gear box, beautiful leather interiour, descent stereo (for factory) and just a solid overall car. As for ppl saying mazdas are unreliable.....those days sre gone, it's built on the new volvo s40 chasis and their motors have become much more refined
....if you're serious about getting one, pm me cause my brother inlaw works for ford and i might be able to get ya x plan on it.....
p.s.....the 4 door is way better than the hatch....i think anyway |

i too have a Mazda 6 and its amazing. i love it. As far as i know the RX8 has some kind of a fuel injection problem (if you start the car it has to run for at least 30 seconds. if you start and shut off too quick it injects fuel and floods the system.)
The 3 is an awesome car, as is the 6. |

i got a mazda 6 sport, i was thinking of a 3 but the lease price wasnt much diffrent from a 6, about 40$ more.
great car, the new cars are much better, but older ones have problems, i got a deal through the x plan as well through work
the only prob i had with it is in snow, very slippery, and suspension is bad. |

Lots of misinformation in this thread. The new Mazdas are great vehicles. The 3 and the 6 are worlds ahead of the Protege/Protege5 and the 626.
Don't hesitate to purchase either a 3 or a 6, they are fantastic machines.
Also, about the RX8, it is true, but that's not a problem - that's an inherent design of the RENESIS rotary engine. You can't treat the RX8s engine like any other car. It is a very special beast that needs to be taken care of like a baby. It is an enthusiast's car. |

I highly recommend the 3 or the 6. How can you go wrong when they've both won "Car of the Year"? I've had my eye on the 3 Sport for a while now and might get it by the end of the year.
However... one of my co-workers has a 6 Sport Wagon and she's been to the dealer 3 times in 2 months. :conf: But I think she just has bad luck with cars in general... |

| i drove one last summer and the engine seemed it would explode... hate 4 cylinder engines, too noisy beyond 100kmh, |

| i have driven abunch of the new mazda's and i dont mind them... i would rather they had big gas guzzling v8's under the hood... but hey no ones perfect.... i currently drive the "red dragon" 1989 mazda mx-6 turbo, with 200K on it.... not too many major problems to date... the back bumper is gonna fall off soon from my aunt hitting it in the driveway though. i actually just replaced the clutch for the first time this year so i would say its a pretty good car. |
