My squat style isnt the point :eyespop: lol

going down that far isn't good for you back or your knees. the only time i go that low is when i'm taking a dump out in the woods.

oh and i just read up on squats. I was doin em right i just didnt explain it very well haha. EVeryone says just lower than parallel and bam thats what I was doin. friggn shwarzenegger doin 500lbs...bastard

ah before you know it you'll be up there. I started off low and currently squat 315 in our normal routine. Thats after doing leg sled (2 warm up sets and 4 regular sets working up to 810lb).

I've briefly looked through your threads and I'll think if you stick with it you'll be very happy. I've gone from ~170lbs to ~210 over the past 4 years and while I haven't tested body fat lately I'm definitly dropped from the 15% down to about a 10%. Much happier now and it's almost become an addiction. If I skip working out more than one day in a row I get pretty upset with myself.
Orbax
wow....yeah im pretty excited. this was my first time ever doing squats hehe. It was odd cuz i can leg sled 600 8x and was barely able to do 100 lbs hehe. Im hoping its like everything else and will get to an appropriate weight quickly. Hopefully this was the missing ingredient to my inability to gain weight!

i wonder what i look like doing squats...it's so hard to tell hehehe. i feel like i go a little past parallel, but maybe i don't i dunno...

i think it's a lot easier to go past parallel on front squats...of course i don't usually do those hehehe :p
Boomer187
only squats I do are hovering over a torelet :wtf:

HOmey don't do squats no more after back surgery, but I really can't see the point of squatting so low when it's inherently bad for your lower back and knee joints. The risk of injury would overweigh normal squats where the back of your legs are parallel to the floor. That's all they require in powerlifting anyhow.

I hardly lift legs, but you definitely don't wanna overextend. When I'm going to the gym, I always try to go for form rather than weight. I don't really give a what everyone else in the gym thinks.
Orbax
aye. I just thought that was a low weight to start off with cuz i always hear all these ridiculous squat records lol. Totally misjudged :D
