Please prove me wrong.
Unlike all other sports where there is a position for people of all sizes and shapes (well, nearly), in basketball you need to be an absolute giant to play.
Where do these super tall people come from?
You barely see any around, in Australia at least.
When I was at school there was this one kid that was way tall for his age, and he quickly got sent away to basketball camp, and he couldn't even play the game!
So the way I see it you just need to be born with abnormal size issues and with some basic coaching you can play the game. |

| thats not true // you can be average height and have the shot and skills and be an awesome player ... look at Allen Iverson for an example he isnt that big he says hes 6 2 but everybody knows hes around 5 11 to 6 // even if you are big guy if you dont have the shot and the skills u gonna suck ... only time u gonna be able to score is if u get under the basket and most time then u gonna get fouled and wont make free throws so either way if you are 7 feet tall and u dont have no leg movement no shooting touch you are not going to be a good player ... you might get into NBA and will be let go in a year when theyh find out u really suck ... |

I use to play basketball.
I remember opponents and teammates who were younger than me and who I was taller then, the ones who have continued to play (seriously), have now unbelievably grown taller, and I dunno how their legs got so friggin long! It was like only yesterday I was looking down on them, and now the tables have been turned!
Oh mind you I also remember playing against these little midgets, and they were 3 pointer freaks! I gurantee you would hardly ever seem the miss, it was like for 24/7 they trained shooting 3 pointers non stop. |

| Back when I was around eight years old, I was around 4'5" and I played basketball a lot. I got to be quite good at it with plenty of practice. I remember being better than a few people taller than me at the time because I practiced often. Now, I'm 5'10", and I'm not as good as how I used to be. That was because I don't play it too often as how I used to. |

| This is actually real dumb seeing as most professional baseball players are over 6 feet tall. I believe the same can be said with soccer. |

Righto then.
So you have 6 players in the history of the NBA that were under 6 feet tall and all of a sudden its a game that everyone can play?

You have to be abnormal in some ways to play any sport.
Basketball, height defeintly counts. The tallest players will always be the most coveted b/c well.. it's just easier to score when you're big. But don't make the mistake of thinking that just because someone is tall, they're automatically good. |

You get a grip,
if you work hard to achieve a particular goal, anything is possible.
Even in Bbal. You don't have to be tall to play bbal. Just work hard enough, do some powertraining, work on the explosivity of your actions, be smart on the court, ... I mean look at Shawn Bradley or Greg Ostertag, those guys are like really big giants and they get blocked all the time by little guys because they're the most retarded players around. Big isn't better, it just helps.
