World of WarCraft, and why you shouldn't buy a copy.

I got World of WarCraft two days ago. I've put eight hours into the game, already.

Do not buy this game.

It is worse than drugs. Worse than smoking. Worse than alcohol. You will get addicted, and it will drain you of your life.

Thankfully, my girlfriend enjoys the game immensely. We've both been playing (same room) and it's a hell of a lot easier to have someone who is doing the same quests as you are all the time.

On an unrelated note, I just went on a two hour crack attack on my term papers. Somehow, I managed to do two pages each for two five page literature reviews and knocked down another page (bringing the total to five full pages so far) on my ten to twelve page term paper for communication ethics.

But I want to be playing right now. :whip:

Well go and play then

You should have known this from beforehand.

You've never played a Blizzard game??

They all steal your soul. Diablo 2 stole my soul for 2 and a half years.

Anyways, there's a HUGE topic on World of Warcraft in the Gaming Forum, since a lot of TA's play.

Yeaaaa, I feel ya, punisher. But any couple who plays WoW together in the same room is a bunch of losers... which makes you, your girl, me, and my boyfriend all HUGE LOSERS! :whip: :whip: :p Addiction is over though... only play once a week on average... well good luck and don't forget to eat and sleep!

Speaking of which, my girlfriend got in on the Guild Wars beta weekend last weekend... and she looks like she'll be purchasing the game when it comes out very soon. I told her of the dangers of MMORPG addictions... but she kinda brushed it off. I think she's planning a scheme to get me to play the game (as in, purchasing the game for me and paying for a month of gameplay). :nervous:

8 hours in 2 days, pff that's nothing.

In the old days i'd keep myself busy 5-6 hours a day, 11-12 if I didn't need to go to school. Mostly Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge (I ruled this game so hard). But also Age of Empires, Empire Earth, Tiberian Sun, Warcraft (I, II, III). Thank god I don't do that anymore :D No seriously, I'm glad I'm de-addicted. I installed Anno 1503 about 2 weeks ago. The first day (I was at home all day) I played about 10 hours, but after that my interest in it completely disappeared :clown: I'm never buying games again :whip:

Red Alert 2 was one of the best games EVER. Period. Tiberian Sun owned too.

I've pulled 24 hour game-a-thons before. Then I felt like dying... or hibernating, at least.

Warcraft I, II, and III are all RTS.

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG. Examples of MMORPG's: Ultima Online, Diablo, Everquest, etc...
beats and beeps
I bought starcraft and never played it for anything besides bounds and other stupidly fun use map settings games.
