Here they are....

I got the clear ER15 with standard clear molding.
I had some difficulties putting it on at the hearing center but getting better with it when I tried it in the car. Since the mold is made for your ear, its easy to tell if it's placed right or not. There is a distinction sensation as it pops into place. And once it's in your ear, it'll stay there. Even tho you can still feel something in your ear, it is quite comfortable. The mold has a thin extension so that you can easily remove the plug by pulling on it, but its optional and you can always cut it off if you don't like the look. I tested it out on the ride back, definite reduction in sound but its not muffled which is good. I think using them at a club is the ultimate test and I will try that this weekend.

Check out this website for dealers around the world.

Sounds like a great buy. If anyone has tried out the -9s, give us a review.

What about this place in Beverly Hills you bought them at?
You happen to have a phone number?

Another issue to think about is the difference in attenuation consistency between the -9 and -15. If you look at the graph you see that -15 has a consistent attenuation across the frequency range and -9 has a higher attenuation as the frequency gets higher and higher. With an uneven attenuation, the quality of the music you hear may be affected by the earplugs and what you hear is not a true representation of the sound played thru the speakers. So while you're mixing, you may think that the sound is lacking in mid to high end and adjust the eq accordingly, but it's actually the earplugs thats changing the sound. Just a thought.

My earplugs are ready for pick up. It costed me 180 USD, I will pick them up this week and then post some pics.

Remember that when you wear them you have a constant booming sound in your inner-ears... so either you have -9 or -15... you hear a lot of bass. I'm pretty sure you won't be making the difference.
but with the -9 you get better frequencies for the melodies and vocals as they are more between 500hz and 3Khz. Its only for your hearing pleasure
the highs its the same.

So you just have to know the sound of your tracks and adjust the equalizers in consequence

very comfortable- no probs at all.
I find foam ones very claustrophobic and am constantly aware of them.
In contrast, these I almost forget I am wearing them.

Ive been wearing plugs for years tho (was a light jock for a while so wore them all the time), so maybe I am just more used to having stuff in my ear?

definately thinking about investing in a pair of these.

Got fitted for mine yesterday. Also took the opportunity of having a hearing test which fortunately came back very positive (I haven't suffered any damage from several years of DJing). The only bad bit is apparently my ear plugs are going to take four weeks to arrive... :(

Just though I would share this with you guys....

Took that last night at peak time.

before i got these plugs, my headphone pot would be at about 12 o clock on the dial (if you imagine its a clock face).

In fact, the dj that works there on other nights has it at 1 o clock.

Look how much lower it is with these things!
Think about it, thats about half the level on the pot, and then - another 15 dB which makes it pretty comfortable level wise.

As always, when you live in Scotland everything takes longer...

Got sized up for them on Monday... its going to take 4 to 6 weeks to get mine back ready to wear.... whoa the speed of light...

Lets hope I don't go deaf in that time.....
