'Uplifting' or 'Progressive' Trance (pg. 5)

| Progressive. To me, uplifiting is done. It had its run, and a great run at that, but I want to look forward, rather than back when I look for music. Uplifting has also always sounded so formulaic to me. Progressive will continue to mold into new sounds, and most likely new genres, but for now I love listening to it to experience new sounds, and to say progressive is an emotionless genre is just nonsense. Sure uplifiting trance revolves around emotion, so therefore by the very label of the genre you would hope every song would have emotion packed into it. However, I couldn't just sit down and listen to a bunch of uplifting singles, I'd be bored after the second track. |

Uplifting music is still used in movie soundtracks and it always works it's magic, or the Music Director wouldn't use it.
uplifting music certainly when I am clubbing.

| Uplifting is very good but I think the background rhythm should be progressive...so both can be mixed;) |

i used to listen to uplifting, but 1 1/2 year ago i started to move towards prog. and a few months ago i found myself quite deep into it.. uplifting trance bores me.. it just repeats itself, which prog. does not.. which explains the word progressive... ;-)
but also like uplifting progressive... |
