Im thinking a simple description like the one in this thread, we work out whos going in wot week..then the links for the mix are posted, tracklist small description if wanted. But how do we limit it to only one or 2 people a week?? thats wot i dunno...wots to stop sumone from just posting a link |

I'm Currently awaiting a response from Jamie, but I would like to be a part of organizing this Essential Mix Setup. Rules I have for negotiation:
01. Length of mix must be 2 hours Maximum/Minimum.
02. Mix may include any style of music, set yourself apart from everyone else.
03. There should be one mix per week. More than that would require a lot of time and effort for everyone to listen to every one. Remember these sets are 2 hours a piece. Thats over a 100 hours of music to listen to.
04. Every mix will be available for download for 10 weeks after its entry date. I can set up a an account at global beatz and have 10 sets always in rotation.
05. All sets must include tracklist and must have record label credit. This alone will contribute to the artist and their labels and also allow for credibility.
06. At the 53 week there will be an official vote for set of the year and also the 1st set of the 2nd year competition.
07. Entries should be first come first serve. Once we reach 52 all others will have to wait til next year.
08. More to think of... |

hey steven i replied :P, i came up with small alterations such as possibly 2 mixes per week?? But the one per week seems like a better idea. Also is there anyway all the mixes wud be able to stay up for download thru the whole time its running?? (thats aimed at folk who actually have a clue about hosting sets, unlike moi haha)
Obviously the idea of trying to set urself apart and be original....also having to state the record labels.
But yeh the guidelines i stated in the first post and wot stevens jus posted seems to look good...Dont forget the intro/outro, classic track idea lol, i still like that one alot. But dont if u dont want to.
Give your ideas and suggestions guys if u dont agree or come up with alternative ideas.
Oh ill sign upfor a mix also lol jus realised i havent said i want to do one!! |

small details:
Its March, so 52 weeks would be our own year, or this year we cut short?
1st Come 1st Serve could create problems:
1st to post set each week? :nervous:
a thread where 1st 52 posts participate
other idea...
2 Hr max/min... how about with max -10% margin = -12mins = no less than 1Hr 48mins : there are still some commercials in bewteen hrs :tongue2 and we don't make it too strict
about our worries of cheaters:
post with real name also and other info (ideas?) If at the end you're caught as a cheater, you're banned from TA /disqualified
Though still this should be for fun. There should be trust and honesty among ourselves
And remember: friends don't let friends cheat on friends to beat friends :tongue2
about chosing winners
how about some basic criterias such as
transitions
track flow
mood change?
others...
* not everyone is wealthy on money, so we shouldn't judge based on track's age. But obviously not everything can be 90s :toothless
We score a 1-10 on each category + a free overall score to give the personal touch
We make a thread for each mix scoring and close it after a # of posts and/or time span. Just to be fair with everyone.
Just remember, given diff. styles each score should be based on each mix. We're not comparing mixes, we're judging on each on its own.
And how about a sticky with the official rules once it gets started.
PS count me in! :D |

I dont agree with the first come first serve idea. I think we shud work out who wants to do what week in advance. Or else get everyone to post in this thread roughly wot time they wud want to post a mix and me and whoever else wants to help (steven said he wud) cud schedule the times and then put up who plays wot week....
And yeh its march so we will probabaly do it from now to march next year?? or maybe a just a bit earlier i dont know...
Judgement was one thing i was gonna bring up.....i dont want to see trance mixes all given 10 simply cause they have the same tracklist as the week befores asot, with no thought, effort or care put into it at all...Give credit where its due, maybe not ur style of mix if its not dont mark it as a 1 etc. |

| Don't know if this has come up, but has there ever been talk about creating a tranceaddict streaming radio station? I think it would be a bettor opportunity for promoting aspiring TA djs. |
