Tiesto walking around during sets (pg. 3)

As long as his antics didn't disrupt the set i really don't see what the problem is. You idolize the man, thereby turning an ordinary talent into some rock superstar, and then when it goes to his head and he starts acting like a rockstar you scrutinze his every move and label him as unproffessional. Now, i'm no Tiesto fan, but i'd like to say on his behalf that you as fans really need to get off his back and just let him do his thing...

If his antics affect the quality of his sets i could possibly see a reason to complain. Handing and signing over records in my mind doesn't really affect a set because it's done in between tracks, and anyone who has ever heard a trance set (or a tiesto set to be more specific) knows that he's only really ever needed for the 30 second beat matching from one track to the next...the rest of the 6 minutes is just the record spinning and Tiesto smiling to his legion of fans. Hell, at least signing a few records and raising his arms in the air counts for crowd interaction -- something he's really good at.

Ultimately I guess everyone is entitled to comment on the performance of a DJ if they forked over the cash to go see him. At some point though, you have to exercise some common sense otherwise you just end up quibbling over insignificant details.

i already stated, and will state again, i am fine with tiesto handing out records!!!!! i just thought it was in the middle of a set, which i did not agree with.

the few times i have seen tiesto, he gave me no indication that he does crazy stunts, yes he gets new and different gigs now, but he always seemed pretty professional to me.

is there something im missing? cause it seems that nobody is getting my point. please clarify.

no, i don't think there is something you are missing.

just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean that they aren't reading your post.

I thinks its just strange that there is actually a thread about this?? Kuz Tiesto handed out some records....even mid-set? Im not a fan of Tiesto myself, but cut the guy some slack.
He's giving back to his fans...thats about it

I know a DJ who while mixing can produce a track on his laptop from scratch before the current track is up and still beat match it in.

I agree with TheVrk....the crowd seems to go nuts when he does it. I believe it was shattered into a few pieces at the Docks in Dec with people fighting over it, wanting to have it.

I liked when he through his headset into the crowd back in June....damn being too short :whip: (the guy beside me caught em)
