I don't know what does it mean but I haven't seen luke or nick on my threads.
Therefor I don't think I'll get selected for the next unite if this was the system.
But I still think it's a good idea.

It's because you make dark, depressing stuff. :p

j/k but seriously, I do think that the style that one tends to produce predisposes one to review tracks of the same style. Luke and Nick tend to deal more in melodic trance, from what I've seen of their stuff, so they probably don't have too much of a desire to listen to and review the dark/psy stuff that comes through here. I know that I, personally, find myself more willing and able to review dark and psy trance.

Wow. Off-topic.

I suppose it could be argued that this sub-conscious bias may have an effect on the selections that appear in the final product. I don't know. In the end, I don't think it's as big a deal as it's made out to be.

Well it's not a big deal, I never said it is but I think that nick just won't visit mine or cybernetika's threads just because he favors prog or melodic.
I review all generes (I guess that makes me a better man then you:haha:) :)

Anyway goodluck Nick & Luke.
I hope to hear this mix somewhen in the next 20 years (j/k but I would really like to hear it);)

I don't think it's so much a personal preference rather than something that happens automatically. After all, 90% of the tracks submitted here are melodic and uplifting stuff, so obviously that's going to be the main focus - a deep, dark psy number just won't fit in the middle of that kind of set, it's bound to sound out of place.

However, most of the rejections happened because the tunes simply weren't good enough production wise. Sounds harsh, I know, but that's just the way it is.

Btw, there's no c in Nik ;)

Edit:
Oh, and furthermore... I may have something in store for you pretty soon ;)

Erm.. it has nothing to do with fairness, it's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Most people prefer just uplifting in stead of psy/dark.

Did you not read my post at all?

I don't think it's a question of fair, personally. It's really a question of numbers. This board is represented best by its multitudinous talented uplifting producers, despite the wealth of talent also present in the dark and psy minority. That's why I hope my last post didn't come off as a complaint rather than the observation it was intended to be.

Although I have heard several melodic goa tracks around here that could actually do pretty well if integrated into an uplifting set properly.
