THe only thing that pisses me off sometimes is that Intervention always runs over time...so you miss the last 30 seconds of the show...which is the most important because tells you if they've relapsed or not!
So i always have to manually edit the recording so its tapes from 9:00pm - 10:01pm.
Plus it also sucks that you can only record upto 2 shows at once, and if you want to watch tv you have to watch one of those recorded shows.
If it wasn't for Timeshift, i dunno what i'd do! |

Yeah, I usually run everything 5 minutes long.
It would be better if you could record more than two things; however, it's better then expressview (you can only record one on that system). Time shifting is the key! |

I read on rogers's site that you could tape 2 progs at once, and be able to watch a 3rd
and 15$ a month isnt too unrealiable.
(and if u plan to keep it atleast 3 years, then u might as well, if able to, buy it for $600. Over 3 yeras that works out to $16 a month.
and I agree, timeshifting is awesome. love that i have the option to watch most all shows on the networks 3 hours later (or an hour or two earlier) if that suits my needs better. its like a safety back up option (for those who dont have PVR anways)

That makes sense...since there's 2 tuners in there...each one is being used to record the show, so you can watch something that's on the HDD.
I prefer renting the box, because that way I can keep upgrading to a newer model, or switch it if I ever have a problem.
I do find that the PVRs made by SA tend to have HDD failures often enough. I know i've had about 2-3 that have failures...
Not to mention that their is a new HD PVR that is coming soon, or is available right now from Rogers... |

I own mine, had one problem with it... took it to a Rogers Video and they just gave me a new one (the box was no longer under warrenty but they gave me a new one anyway).
Jamie, the $600 is for the HD, if you don't want HD then I think it's only 400. |

Weird... I got mine from Aurora Cable (we don't get Rogers in our boondocks) and it records to the end of the show, not according to the time itself. Never missed a single ending so far, touch wood.
Also my PVR (HD) can record up to 5 shows at once, which I take full advantage of, of course. I wonder if Rogers just gives out a different brand from Aurora Cable's one?
Either ways, the original reason we got it was so we could record the World Cup Football matches when they were on too early or if we weren't home. We were going to return it when it was done but it was too late lol. We were hooked. PVR Intervention! :stongue: |
