Tiesto vs Armin???

Hows it goin,
Im just writing this post to ask the question, who is the better dj...Tiesto or Armin?
I live in Ireland and have been lucky enough to see both of them in the last month. Armin was in Feb and Tiesto was at the start of March, both in the Redbox, Dublin.
The tiesto gig sold out in 45minutes and the hype was unbelievable. As for armin, well his gig wasn't as sought after or as hyped up. You are probably saying to yourself that this was obviously going to happen with tiesto being the 'no.1 dj', but after being to both gigs i felt the demand for tickets should have been the other way around!
Armin's night was amazing. Full of epic, uplifting and thumping trance, his set was top class and his mixing was great as usual. But it wasn't just about the music. He interacted with the crowd all night. His hands were in the air, he was singing and dancing and smiling all night. And he was giving autographs and getting into pics with fans after every 3 or 4 songs! Everyone left on a high and the place was buzzing.
Tiesto was a different story. Basically, he came over, played an average set by his standards with a loads of tech-trance and very little uplifting tunes (is it just me or is he cutting out all of his uplifting stuff?), collected his fat wage packet and went home.
From the very start, the crowd gave it 100%, it was a pity tiesto only gave about half that.
I am starting to think that the no.1 tag has gone to his head a bit. He barely acknowleged the crowd at all except for signing about 3 of his 'precious' vinyls and tossing them into the crowd. I got the impression he thought he was like Jesus giving out the loaves and fish!
He never wanted to be there. Armin did. Who do u think is better? |

| Neither is statistically better. Just listen to who you like better and move on with it. |

I think they both have their strongs points. Armin's mixing from as little as a year ago has drastically improved. Tiesto does seem to be playing way harder/techy stuff these days.
Armin seems to be more in touch with his fans. I dunno. I've never seen either live. But Armin does seem really dedicated to his fanbase. |

techtrance?? i moslty see soft trancers in the tracklist, Tiesto even spun Mindcircus, well thats already a reason to be there :eek:

neither of them have been great. I think out of the 2 Tiesto definately has the bigger upside, as you should notice with ISOS 4 > ASOT 2005.

Not a big Tiesto fan except for his ISOS series, to be honest. I also agree, as someone said before, that Armin is more in touch with his fan base, but as far as who's the best DJ, I have no idea. I guess I'd choose Armin.
BTW, Sandstorm, is there a tracklist available for ISOS4 already? |

Don't get me wrong, i am a huge tiesto fan, he just didn't live up to all the hype that was created over here.
I mean i just bought his second concert dvd and it is unbelievable!
But i get the impression he only turns it when he wants. |

come on, choosing armin cause he is nice:whip: :whip: :whip: . Anyway I liked Nyana, there were a lot of good tracks on it.
I don't have any idea what is going to be on ISOS 4. I am kinda hoping for Portishead - roads, i don't see many tracks that fit the ISOS profile. Maby Need to feel loved? There are normaly a few vocals on them.
I have not seen anything but hard stuff that has recently come out on BH/MM... |

LOL...I never said I would choose Armin over Tiesto because he's nicer...LOL...It's just that none of the two DJs are among my favorites, but of the two I'd choose Armin...
Anyways, I agree with you that there's very few tracks out there that fit the ISOS profile right now...like someone else said in anotehr thread, there's probably gonna be a lot of exclusive stuff on this album...but I have no clue to be honest... |

not by Tiesto himself, but exlusive tracks given to him by other artists...still, though, I find this very unlikely...but who knows |
