I personally love long ambience intros in tracks and i like to start sets slowly and building them up. Here are some intro tracks i've used over the years:

I love something really different to open a set, like some mashed up samples, like the President of the Breaks intro to Freelands We Want Your Soul set.
As far as opening tracks go, I think Gabriel & Dresdens EM opening was fantastic

Filo & Peri - Spectrum
Still one of my favorite tracks ever, didn't hit me the first time though, anyway, amazing intro! Perfect for starting a nice melodic/uplifting mix. |
