The music was great, but i was sorta disappointed with the hardness of AVB's sets, figuring with a couple of other attendees that he was playing to the local crowd (ny is a house/hard/atonal kind of town). didnt recognize any tracks from his live Ibiza '04 cd. also, i didnt know how goddamn charismatic that armin was, and i thought his mixing was very good.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: the place was way too crowded, packed with wall to wall bodies (they mustve exceeded the legal occupancy limit) and soon after 12 the place transformed from a dance club to a stand club - there was no space to dance at all save the balcony area. people were shoving like crazy, wading through a dense goo of flesh to get from A to B, muscleheads shoving all those around and each other, decidedly tense and unfriendly. when a rumor apparently started that the event was sold out, MADE made sure to post here that it wasnt. this extreme overbooking not only robbed the audience of a good time, but created a really dangerous situation, and not just from a fire hazard and crowd control point of view; i saw at least one fight break out where a kid was walked out with a bloody eye even though trance concerts are known for love and not hostility. folks, anytime you put so many young men (and women), some of whom were drugged up and hyper, in such a dense crowd youre asking for trouble. its amazing that more didnt happen, but i credit the trance culture for that.
i'm sure theyd reply with the old indignant posturing and n' bull about it being safe, giving as many people as possible the opportunity to attend etc. At 25 bucks a pop (35 at the door), the bottom line is the promoters picked greed over fun and, most importantly, safety.
Please please please set a much more reasonable and safer ticketing policy in the future, even if that means an extra 5 bucks to cover the costs, lest we read about some totally f'd up in the papers one day, and all the trance community will have to not only mourn, but suffer the inevitable regulatory wrath. |

Btw.. The first video you have (from Perry.. it says good video) is from Synergy - Hallo Strings. Usually Armin plays that sond a lot.. But now, Perry stole it from him :)
Come on guys.. There must be someone with the whole set.. or at least the tracklist!!! |
Armin is trying to promote Perry and get his name out...I don't think he'd mind too much the he played that track. Plus Armins set was mostly asot material due to the upcoming release of ASOT 2005 cd out April 5th or so.
As to the set being out...the set armin spun in december at spirit is floating around so someone probably does have the set from 2 nights ago. |

This is true yet IKON is prime example of this on NY's eve. 3 ppl got stabbed in the club that night...but in the TIMES stated the next day that the stabbings occured out side the club on the sidewalk. |
