are u retarded or something? i'm telling you that your ins. company can deny you coverage, and you will still get a ticket for being drunk in the first place...THEN when u guys go to trial over it, the jury has to make a decision....you are already in a bad position for being drunk, so there is a big possibility that you will get charged because they might see it as "well this all would never have happened if the drunk guy wasn't there to begin with".
especially if the sober person was like a mom in a minivan w/ a bunch of annoying kids...
i know there can be lots of scenerios, but the moral of the ing story is don't drink and drive...if you want to keep making excuses and justify drinking and driving, then go ahead and make an ass of yourself and continue to drink and drive...oh but it's ok because YOU know your limit. :rolleyes: |

i think the problem here is that we have different conceptions of drinking then driving. You think when I say I drink and drive my BAC would be upwards of .14 er something, when in reality its closer to .08 or below.
im not trying to say, hey im cool, i drink like a madman and drive perfect when im hammered, im saying it is perfectly fine (and most of the time) perfectly legal to go out, drink some beers do some shots and let loose, then drive home. and if you do not believe that, i whole heartedly believe you are making an ass out of yourself instead. |

well it's sad that you will learn this the hard way.
i'd be curious to see what you have say for yourself if you were to "go out, have a few beers AND a few shots and let loose" and then drive home and get in a horrible accident where people from the other car died...and weren't drunk.
my whole point is that it really doesn't matter what YOU think your limit is...it matters on what the law is. if you happen to think that you can handle more than what the law is, that's fine. but it's NOT fine when you get pulled over. the cops aren't gonna be like, "hmm, ur past the legal limit...but uhh, u say you FEEL ok sir?"
"yea i know my limit i'm fine"
"well ok then, i guess i won't give you a ticket, have a nice day"
do u understand what i mean? |

I know exactly what you mean. But realise that I have been pulled over, I have been arrested for this, I know the legal limits on drinking and driving, and when I do drive I am usually within those legal limits.
one of my main interest when I entered grad school for psych was the relationship between thoughts while drunk and physical ability. There are many variables that effect it, and those effect different people differently. my main goal would have been to create a more accurate way to assess drunkeness.
now you may read that as, 'i want to create a new way to assess drunkenness so we can drive drunker'.....but in reality it would be to weed out the ty drivers, there are people with BACs of way lower than the legal limit that drive like . |

Since there was no wheel witness nobody can say he was driving so he got no ticket, no DUI or jail time, thats just the way the law is. Guys please don't ever let your friends drive drunk or yourself drive while drinking its stupid and completely irresponsible, i had driven and rode with drunk people many times but i will never again. Don't wait till something like this happens, if you drink be responsible. |
Seems like you're lucky to have survived. Had an E8 and an E7 killed in a wreck last Thursday night at work. Drinking and drag racing were involved.
Don't drive and drink and the like. Homey don't do that no more himself, and I've survived a few accidents where the cars were totalled in my life...and alcohol was definitely involved and people were killed, but not me...
I'm here by the grace of god...

my buddy was drunk and high and got in a wreck and the cop doing the report didn't even notice. kinda weird. he still says he learned his lesson.
i got another buddy that drives absolutely perfect high. i'm talking 2 mph over limits, turn signals, checking mirrors. it's poetry in motion. heh.
my girlfriend's mom drives drunk and has been for 30 years without incident. i still don't approve of it. |
