| Haha something else I just noticed, I had imported a different midi clip at 140 bpm, so the sequencer adjusted its' bpm to match, then I imported airwave which was at 141, so it changed to 141 at the point where I imported the clip. Anyways, about a third of the way in it changes tempo, from 140 ---> 141. |

what a pick up line.
that guitar sounds pretty nice and expensive. way better than my guitar. you can sort the clipping issue by putting a limiter on the master bus or by compressing it pretty hard. but you'll probably want to run it through a spectrum analyser to see what is causing it to clip. it sounds very low mid rangey so you may want to use an EQ and just tone it down a bit.
not sure what else to add except that the play is a bit flat. it just needs a bit more expression in the performance. by this i mean, when you strike each chord you seem to put pretty equal emphasis on each one. whereas i think you can create a more subtle kind of vibe by altering the way in which you strike each chord. more delicately or harder with more of an acceleration to add little expressive details/accents to the sound.
im interested to hear what a slapback delay would sound on that too. because it sounds quite saturated but dry.
i wanna go play guitar now. |

Ahh ok it sounds as if you're under the impression that I recorded myself playing it. If this is the case, let me clarify this point by saying that this is all done via free VSTis and VST effects. I've never played the guitar and I have no idea how to play it.
Ooh yeah and I have a brickwall limiter at the end of the chain, but I think it's digitally clipping somewhere inside the chain before it hits the limiter, so I'm gonna have to find out where and sort that out. |

You mean REfx Slayer?

Fruity licensed a copy to distribute with their sequencer.
Derivative, there's no way that sounds better than your real guitar, this is lacking a lot of the upper frequencies.
TVG: I used Crystal, but the effects are the real workhorses.

Edit: thanks Derivative, I'll try "humanizing" the note velocities. Still not sure on how to get the upper frequency thing solved, but I'll think of something. |
